The dealership diagnosed a sound in my 2013 Accord EX-L as bad bearings in the heater/air blower motor assembly fan, located behind the glovebox. They wanted to charge almost $300 to replace it, but I can get the part for ~$55. The blower motor looks like a fan and is behind the glove box. Does anyone have instructions or advice on how easy this is to do myself? Thanks much!

Check YouTube. It's a straight forward process so you should have an idea even if the video is not of an Accord. 3 or 4 screws, a connector and maybe a clip.

The sound could also be something stuck in the "hamster cage" part of the fan.

On older accords, it was easy to remove the blower; like said above. From model to model, some are harder to do. I would suggest to try to remove it first prior to ordering the part. On the 9th gen, it looks like the part is the same as the older model with just 3 screws and the connector; there is a plastic cover, just gently pull it down and the push pins will come out one by one to review the blower mounting screws and the power connector.

I wouldn't think if they gave him a price, it would still be under warranty. If they are charging you $300, it must be an easy job.

I assume the guys troubleshooting this do good work, but are you sure there is not any debris in the fan causing your noise? Before I replaced it I would remove it and make sure it was bad.
