Honda Canada today announced the first vehicle to wear the Honda Factory Performance (HFP) badge at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto. While most of the upgrades are aesthetic, it is a bit of a shame that this limited Accord Coupe is a Canada-exclusive package, as it's not all just about the new aero kit.

To help in the handling department, the Limited Series Black Accord HFP Coupe gets a new suspension setup that lets the car sit 1-inch lower to the ground. Also included are a nice set of 19-inch HFP wheels. No engine upgrades are included, but the Accord already delivers a potent kick thanks to a 217-hp V6 engine.

Available with either a 5-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual, the Accord is only available in black with just 200 models set to hit dealers. Priced at $37,890 it's not cheap, but not a huge increase over the current top-trim Accord Coupe offering in Canada.

It's not yet clear if Honda plans to offer additional HFP models and if they will make their way to the U.S.

271 they need to switch that

You could always cross the border in the Canada and buy one. :) Typically it's the other way around.

so basically it has the HFP suspension, aero, and rim kit... aside from the factory applying the HFP stuff (and who knows if that really happens or the stuff is just sent along with the 200 black coupes)...I'm not seeing what's so special...am I missing something?

The matte white, with black hood accord was much more appealing imho-- Honda, step up your game, yo.

Available in any color as long as it's black. Just like Ford's Model T. :lmao:

Of course fwiu Honda likes to build colors/colours in batch lots. I wonder how many of the 200 are MT's? I'm sure one of those would be ultra rare. I'm guessing 50-75 of the 200.

The one on display at the show was a 4 cylinder model (only 1 pipe at the back). I think they got it all wrong or the 217 hp is actually right !!! LOL.

The new civic coupe looked really nice... in my opinion a much better looking car overall than the 8th gen Accord. Coupes are not meant to be that BIG and that heavy like the 8th gen Accord ! Interesting what some other guy attending the show around the Honda/Acura area told me: the Accord makes the Civic look good and the civic makes the accord look ugly :D

Sadly, the crowds in the Ford area on the same floor were much much bigger than the number of people hanging out at the Honda/Acura area. The new Focus was getting a lot more attention.

That one there in the pic has the V6 badge on the back. I just don't think you can see the other pipe.

Don't think that's only available in Canada. You can always go to the dealer and get those components put on, including the badge. $6000 according to the dealer I talked to here in San Diego.

6 k would be a huge rip off, but if you built the car to order on the website (I don't think Honda even offers that..) maybe 6k is what they would stick u for. It pays to do a little homework/legwork yourself....in this case, drastically pays off.

19" HFP rims and tires... 1700-1800$ (less if you go refurb or used route)

HFP Suspension kit (often brand new on ebay from parts counters) 500$ .. install 300$ (or DIY)

HFP Body kit 1180+ install (I paid 180$ but folks often DIY or pay around 300$)

Let's throw in an alignment and balance after the suspension settles and because of the the new tires/rims, for another 100$

If none was accomplished via DIY install, conservatively one should pay 3900$ - 4000$ + price of badges if you want them.
