Hello Again =)

Purchased a 2014 V6 Accord Sedan recently and noticed that with the audio system fully off and at speeds at 35 MPH or greater - there is a static sound that appears to be originating between the windshield and the dash but I'm not for certain. It almost sounds like static on a radio where you are in between stations. The windows are fully up as is the moonroof. The faster you go above 35 the louder the noise.

Pressure applied to the dash or windshield areas do not change the sound or make it go away nor does different terrain or wind direction.

Any ideas? Service department suspects it's ANC but no idea what that is or how to prove it....and don't want things pulled apart already.

Try pushing on the upper left airbag cover. There is a TSB on this. There is a gap that you can press on. I had a vexing rattle/buzz that I swore came from the windshield but was the airbag cover. Here is a link to my thread on this.

Luckily it was something much more simple...I had to drive the car "Ace Ventura" style and pressed on the exterior windshield trim and it went away.

This morning with much better light figured out what was going on...rock sliding up and down inside the trim and between the windshield.

Was a PITA to remove the rock but she's quiet as ever now. ;)

Thanks for the suggestion on the airbag cover tho.

Thanks for posting the fix. I had "squeaking" irritating noise from the same area and it turned out to be frozen water, snow impacted into the same spot. After it warmed up to over freezing the noise went away.

I knew that HUGE gap there was/ is a problem area.

Miker

I too have had rattling noises and it turned out to be just stuck snow/ice around the side and rear window thankfully

Have the same type of noise which just started a couple weeks ago--the left piece under the driver's wiper moves around a little bit.

Will be having the dealer take a look at it after the car comes back from their body shop, following the repairs to the car from my bumping a concrete stanchion on a "Stop" sign in a parking lot this evening. :furious: :censored: :headbash: :bawling: :bawl:

Thanks for finding this, I had leaves in that crevice and once removed (with needlenose pliers) mine is now quiet as well.

I have had this same problem on my 2015 Honda Accord Touring for the pass year. I have brought it in to the dealer for a diagnostic but they were not able to figure out the problem. I wonder if you have gotten it fixed and please let me know what was done. I read all the replies on this thread but it seem to have gotten off track to some other issue of clicking sound. My problem here is the same as your, the sound is a buzzing\static noise as you described along the A pillar or the area above the driver side window. It is loud and constant at highway speed but doesn't make the noise driving on local street at around 35 mph or less. I welcome all your suggestions to this specific problem as described above. I have add the recording of the sound from the link below.

My 2015 Accord just started making this same noise in the same area. Were you able to get yours fixed or figure out cause?

My 15 hah just started doing this same exact sound. On driver's side then it started doing this on the passenger side. Were you able to identify the cause?

2015 Accord Sport. Same exact sound as Just In's video. I've removed the A pillar cover and drove around without it in place and still the same buzzing sound. Getting a bit frustrated and hoping someone else has figured this out.

Where you able to identify this issue ?

I finally figured it out. So silly. The windshield trim on the outside A pillar is the culprit. Looking at it it looks just fine. But when you drive, the wind is pushing the thin edge of the plastic strip out and when you slow down, there is not enough wind to pull it out so it goes right back to where is belongs so you never see it. Take your finger nail and follow the outside edge of the windshield molding "rubber" and gently pull away from the car. Just the edge of that "gasket" pulls away. Look to see if you notice very subtle scratches on the painted surface of the A pillar along that molding. That'll show exactly where it is pullout out while driving. If you aren't sure what I"m trying to describe, just take a piece of tape the length of the A pillar and tape it from top to bottom covering the molding all the way down and test drive. I'll bet the sound stops. Fixed mine after months of pulling what little hair I have out. Good luck!
