So I went to lock my car today, and I believe my driver's side door lock actuator went out. I went to press the lock button on my key fob and the switch on the door handle, and the driver's door didn't lock. The passenger's door lock actuator went out about 6 months ago. Anyway, it doesn't surprise me. The car is 8 years old now, and those things do go out eventually. Before I end up getting new parts, I'll pull the battery out for a while, check the fuse, and see if anything else could've caused the locks to not work before I dish out money for new actuators. So, when did your actuators go out? It surprises me the driver's one went out before the passenger's since the driver's door is obviously used more than the passenger's door.

My is 13 yo, never had that kind of problem... but all Hondas after year 2003 start to have such and similar problems...
-till 2003 there was quality, after 2003 - quantity
:paranoid:

had that problem in my 1993 accord... The car was 17 years old when i got it. The actuator still works, but it's sticky and didn't fully push the lock up. To date, I've only had minor annoyances in the 2005 (1 wheel bearing, heat shield) but those are understandable since I got 97k+ miles on my car right now.

My driver's side actuator didn't stop working, but it was moving slowly at about 6 years old, so I changed it. Of course it gets used way more than the other doors. The other three are still working fine at 8 years now.

My 03 Accord V6 coupe and 98 Accord V6 Sedan still have the original actuators

Mine are gone too ('03). I took out one of them out of curiosity and used an external 12volt power supply to see if its alive, nop, dead! I'll check Rock Auto, since the price of the OEM ones is simply prohibited! LOL. Not a big job to take them out. Only hassle is that you'll have to re-seal the plastic on the inside of the door.

Why are the coupe actuators twice as expensive as the sedan? They both do the same thing. Sedan $20, Coupe $40, at the closest online dealer.
