The amount budgeted per year depends on TONS of different factors.
In terms of maintenance, intervals are determined by the maintenance minder system. You can look up the different maintenance items in the owners manual (which is available online if you don't own an Accord).
Your spending on maintenance will depend on how much you drive- and the determination of the maintenance minder system- which tells you when service is needed- and will tell you what is needed.
While under warranty, I normally spend about $200-250 per year on basic oil changes, tire rotations, and the general inspection that my mechanic does. That's for two visits per year, roughly at 7-8,000 mile intervals. (Again, the maintenance minder system determines when service is needed based on your driving)
I don't budget anything for repairs- as my car is fully under warranty. I don't necessarily have an "emergency fund" dedicated to just car repairs- at least for the other car in my driveway- which has tons of miles on it. I do have a sizable general emergency fund that I use for home repairs, car repairs, or any other unexpected expenses. It's large enough to cover any repair that I would be willing to do on my wife's Camry- which is fourteen years old and has 180,000 miles... or to pay to have my roof repaired if it leaked... or replace my hot water heater... or whatever else. Anything above that amount in my emergency fund would likely cause me to junk the car. Heck- I recently got a quote of about $1500 to replace the struts, which are nearing the end of their lives. My wife and I are seriously considering just trading the car in rather than dumping $1500 into a car with 180,000 miles... especially given that it's a hybrid on its original battery.
So between my two cars- I budget about $800 per year in regular maintenance. The Camry gets a little more love because it is older and small things are wearing out, which usually results in higher annual costs.
Your spending will be determined on how much you drive and where you take your car for maintenance and repairs. A local dealership can provide you with whatever they charge for each service listed in the owners manual based on the codes that will be displayed by the maintenance minder. How much you budget for out-of-warranty repairs is up to you.
