My 2012 Honda Accord V6 AC compressor was cycling on and off every 6 seconds which seemed like a lot but blew ice cold air. I had it in to the dealer for some maintenance and had them check it out. They said it was low on freon and recharged the system. Now it cycles exactly every 6 seconds and then every 14 seconds. Does this sound normal? The dealer service adviser couldn't tell me exactly how often it should cycle on and off. How does your AC cycle? Thanks!

What temp? The colder the temp the more it will cycle. Try varying the temp if you haven't already.

My 2008 cycles a lot, similar to what you describe. I believe there is a sensor on the evaporator to keep it from freezing. It cycles on/off relatively quickly. Much faster than any other car I have owned.

Mine does the same. It will do it more when you're in Park or idling.

Thanks gentlemen! Mine seems to behave the same way no matter how I have the system turned on. Recirc, Synced to both sides or any of the other settings. I honestly can't remember how it ran when new but I thought it cycles only a few times a minute but I'm probably wrong. Dealer just did a recharge saying it was low and they tested the system and checked for leaks but all was good to go they said so I'm happy!

I find this too. Mine cycles a lot. It's reasonably cold (not quite as cold as my other cars, and never has been) but the refrigerant charge is correct and it's cold enough. I just wish that, when idling, the vibration of the compressor turning on wasn't so darn annoying.
