Does anyone know what the best resolution or aspect ratio to set for the clock face wallpaper? I tried importing a photo but it has black bars on the side.. I would like to crop the photo so that it fills the entire screen.

Am trying to figure out this as well. Uploaded a few pics but look small & terrible lol

The attached image is from the 2018 manual available through owners.honda.com. The manual was revised 12/08/17 and at first glance appears a little different than the one I received with my car, for what that's worth. Hope this helps!

Also, this images references the "display audio" configuration, not the "color audio". Display audio appears to be a feature of the the trim levels above LX, although I can't tell for sure.

Clock Wallpaper Change

Was trying to add a photo from a USB to set as my wallpaper in the clock app. Kept on getting change file to jpg/bmp notification. Tried searching on google and seen a cpl threads from ppl doing it on the 2016 accords. Changed size of image and made sure it was under 2mb. Still no luck, just needed up borrowing my buddies pixel Phone and transferring the images I want with NFC. Just wondering if anyone has had success uploading photos with USB. Thanks in advance.

I was able to get 2 out of like 6 or 7 that I've tried. All are .jpg but I'll have to check the size.

I used the USB plug in the center console, but I don't think it matters

The key things are to have the correct dimensions and file size ... the smaller the file size the more photos you can add to the car :) 1920 x 936 and less then 2MB in size ... but again .. the smaller the file size the more pics you can add to the car. I used Photoshop and set the crop size to 1920 x 936 and then just clicked “save” .jpg ... worked for me

I just purchased a 2018 Honda Accord 2.0T. I was having the same issue with the Clock Face Image. I was able to change an original landscape image from the original iPhone size to an aspect ratio of 1,920x936 - 300 dpi via PhotoShop. That worked great and I was able to install it as a Clock Face image. That works great for landscapes, but not so much for people images. It gets a little wonky.

Honda's specs indicate 720p for the Sport trim and higher 8" Display Audio High-Resolution touchscreen and WVGA (800x480) for the LX/Hybrid 7" Color Audio screen without touch. HD resolution is 1280x720 and FHD is 1920x1080 for 16:9 aspect images.

On my LX, a 1920x936 sized image with a 2.05:1 aspect ratio doesn't fill the screen vertically. 1280x720 (16:9 aspect) images come closer but still don't exactly match the display's native pixel resolution. The analog clock overlay isn't centered so I had to offset crop the wallpapers I found searching for 'Accord clock wallpaper' and came close with one at least.

There's 3 custom wallpaper storage slots on LX so for the two other empty slots I'm using images of a black Acura NSX dream car from nsx.acura.com that work well behind the analog clock. PM me for example pics.

Clock Wallpaper Limit Disappointing

This is a venting rant ...

I'm disappointed with the number of clock wallpaper images you can load on my 2018.

It turns out that for those with "Color Audio", you can load 255 images. But, on "Display Audio" systems you can only load 5. I believe all trim levels except the LX has what Honda calls "Display Audio". However, both systems will allow 1920 x 936 pixel images.

I'm sure this is not a big deal for most, but I have about 20 clock wallpaper images that I like to change out during holidays, sports seasons, and a general change of pace. This worked well for my 2014, but my 2018 Touring only allows 5. Oh well, bummer ...

Just venting

Clock Screen Wallpaper Gallery

I quickly created about 80 wallpapers for our clocks. Not sure how often people have it on the clock screen but the stock images sucked so I made up a batch and tried some out figured I should share. :)

Looks like depending on the file sizes you can get about 5 images loaded in. It will let you select them all in one shot and 'import'. My car is red so I started with primarily red based backgrounds, they play well with the red of Honda's logo anyway. I did make some in blue and green as well as silver and blacks.

Here is a link to a shared Google Photo album with them all in there for your enjoyment.

Enjoy and good luck choosing. ;-)

For anyone wanting to make their own the optimum file size is 1920 x 936, under 2 megs and saved as a JPG or BMP.

1. Connect the USB flash drive to the USB port

3. Select Settings.
4. Select Clock Faces.
5. Select Add New Wallpaper.
The Searching... screen is displayed.
6. Import a desired picture.
Multiple pictures can be imported at the
same time.
7. Select Start Import.

I did this a couple of days ago. On first attempt it detected no drive. I reformatted it FAT32 on my computer and put the image files back on it, then tried again, and it worked fine.

Thank you for sharing! Nice work.
