This seal has had a tear in it since I got the car, and now since it has gotten a little flat in places and torn a bit more, I am looking to replace it. The one attached to the door looks like it hooks on to plastic fasteners, but the one pictured (that I want to replace) seems bonded to the car. Has anyone replaced it before, or know how?

It just pulls away, though it does go underneath the door sill plastic so you'll have to remove at least that piece.

Pull on it, towards the center of the opening where the door would be. Some of the plastic parts may go over parts of the rubber however.

you can get bootleg copies on ebay for a reasonable price, i did all four for under $100 and the quality was solid

How is it held on, with fasteners, or is it some type of adhesive?

Friction, I think. If it's glued, it's not very strong.

yeah it’s just a regular like c-channel gasket sort of thing, just slips on and off

nah, that’s the seal on the door, you want the body side gasket. still looking for the right part (i’m in a meeting) but here’s the aftermarket version:
