The accord has been out for a while and I was wondering how everyone finds parking it, specifically in a city area. I live in brooklyn and would love to know how the turning radius is when backing in very tight spots.

How are the front parking sensors for parking forward into a wall or another vehicle? My parking deck at work has pretty small spots and I need to get up as far as possible without hitting. I test drove a hybrid touring the other day and told the sales guy I wanted to test the front sensors as I pulled in with another car facing me. He said since there were only corner sensors it wouldn't even detect the car in front of me before I bumped it. A wall at least might get picked up by the corner sensors depending on their angle since it is 'wider' than the front of another car.

The lack of a front sensor is kind of ridiculous since 1. the 2 $10 sensors could easily be hidden in the massive amount of black plastic on the front 2. they could've programmed the giant Honda sensing sensor to do it and 3. there are full back sensors which are completely unnecessary due to the backup camera.

Coming from an AMG C32 which has fantastic turning radius while also being civic sized, this car is much harder to park. For hauling multiple people it is awesome and very roomy but I feel like I gave up some maneuverability. 360 cameras would help a lot. I read where someone put a front camera on their car, not sure what all was involved with that or if it integrated into the infotainment screen.

I come from a CX-5 which had a much smaller turning radius, was higher up, so no curb hitting, and all things considered easy to park.

I struggle parking this car for several reasons.

* It's low so I'm cautious about hitting curbs with the front. I often find myself a couple of feet short of where I should be.
* I have a touring, low profile, and the wheels scrape curbs easily.
* It's not easy to maneuver in a tight parking lot.
* I'm just not comfortable with it from the CX-5.

The sensor's help but they aren't 180-degree coverage from the ground up. So, they cars most of the time, but when you are in a tight fit, doing a multiple point turn or exit, they don't always trigger reliably, even on cars. I'm really glad they're there, this would be a tricky car to maneuver without them, but they aren't perfect.

I note the Civic needs about three feet less for turning circle.

That's a tiny bit odd the Civic has a slightly shorter wheelbase, but you'd think there would be less room under the hood for the wheels to turn.

Civic is also ten inches shorter, so overall it might make a better city car.

So this! I still feel like I'm a new/elderly driver since I'm still adjusting in how far to pull up the car... especially if there are no surrounding cars for a reference point. It's probably why I almost always rear park the car since the camera helps A LOT. I also have a CX-5 in the garage and feel you, two totally different parking/turning characteristics.
