I don't drive our new 2018 2.0 Touring much so I'm not sure when HUD stopped working for me. I have no display when using Driver 2 key. Wife does when she uses Driver 1 key. I cannot find anything in the manual about this. What am I missing?

So what you're saying is...you DO get the display when you use the car with her key, but not when you're using YOUR key??

@ReedZB, Based on what you said:
  • If you see the HUD with her fob, then it's your fob.
  • If you don't see the HUD with her fob, then it's you. Make sure you're not wearing polarized glasses.

^Yep, polarized sunglasses can definitely make it harder if not impossible to see!

Also, I seem to remember that some Tourings have had issues with HUDs going out while connected to Carplay and Android Auto...make sure this not going on.

Yes, when I/we use my fob the HUD display does not work. When we use her fob the HUD display works. I'm not wearing glasses. I also checked it without having my I-phone along for the ride. Still no joy. Weird.

it would appear that the HUD is part of the driver settings (I've not used my Driver 2 fob to have tested this on my 2.0 Touring).

Based on what I've read, there could be 2 possible causes of the HUD display not being visible: 1) The HUD switch is on Off (switch is in lower dashboard area near the left knee), or 2) the brightness control (up and down arrows next to the HUD switch) is at minimum.

Here's Honda video explaining the above: https://owners.honda.com/vehicles/information/2018/Accord-Sedan/features/Head-Up-Display

Yeah, some of the settings for the car are saved separately for the two drivers, where as as some settings are applicable to both drivers. I'd definitely poke around in the settings while using your driver 2 fob.

I have tried adjusting the settings for fob 2 and the brightness/on/off switches. Still not working. I going to take it in (if the dealer will return my calls).
I just checked mine. Yes, the settings change with fob 1/2. So, before you call, have you tried adjusting the height of the display up and down? It can actually adjust beyond its ability to display. So yours might be adjusted beyond range, while hers isn't.

I second the above and would like to correct my earlier info about the switch with the up & down arrows beside the HUD switch on the lower dash. Those arrows adjust the height - not brightness - of the HUD display.

The Driver 2 HUD could just be too low to be visible so I'd go ahead and push the up arrow.

Why would your dealer not answer their phone?
The dealer's phone was answered by the woman who's job it is to route the call to the correct person. She sent me to a voice mail line which is not monitored. I called again after 24 hours and got her to send me to a "direct line" for service. Again, voice mail but they did call me back later yesterday. I have an appointment for Monday.

Thanks to all for the helpful suggestions. I have tried all the adjustments for height and brightness without any luck.
The problem is only with fob 2. Both of us have the same results with both fobs. I'll let you know what they find.

In the meantime, simply disconnect the negative battery cable for 10 secs. Your HUD should reappear.

That has been the earlier solution for disappearing HUDs. Do a search and you'll find plenty of posts about it.

I know this thread is old, but I just had the same problem and solved it. The positioning of the HUD is likely way above out below the field of vision. You have to press and hold the up/down button to the right of the HUD button until you see the display.
