Need advice my accord has been shaking a lot when transitioning from ev mode to gas when I first purchased the vehicle it was very smooth now it’s rough , second when accelerating there’s also a rough transition when it goes into gas I have seen a lot users report fuel injector issues whatsoever I took it in today dealer ship marked it as normal ran codes and nothing they couldn’t replicate the issue now I’m clueless on what to do afraid that I’m going to be stranded one day with my kids

My 2024 hybrid had no check engine light on when I took it in. The service advisor gave me a hard time, basically telling me that if something was wrong a code would be set. I insisted that they look at it anyway.

The tech removed the spark plugs and noted that one was fuel fouled and, using a borescope, could see the fuel injector for that cylinder dripping when the vehicle was off. They replaced all of the injectors and that one spark plug, and it's been fine since.

If your dealership just scanned for codes and didn't actually look at the plugs or injectors, insist that they do. Mine was exhibiting a very noticeable shudder and a rattle, both of which were worse the longer the engine was off. I can't imagine how bad it would have to have gotten before a code was set.

There were other clues that could be seen with a scan tool if they bothered to look at the actual data - fuel trim was negative and there were misfire counts on the affected cylinder. Just not enough to trigger a code, apparently.

Cylinder 2 was the one with bad injector:

You might want to take a copy of this thread, especially the tables posted by @barich to convince whichever dealer's service dept to look carefully at your engine, codes or not...!

You're welcome. Good luck with the other dealer!

Hi, I have a 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid and I’m experiencing the same loud noise and vibration when switching from EV to gasoline mode. I’ve read that some owners fixed this issue under warranty by replacing the fuel injectors. Could you share if this was the solution in your case and how the dealership handled it? Thanks in advance.

Yes I’m trying to get it fixed by warranty but dealer wants to act stupid and say this is is normal! It’s clearly not the rattling engine noise sounds like it’s a diesel engine I’ve read from another post that they insisted their dealer and printed out a tsb I’m not sure from where they did u can probably check my profile but I printed out the tsb and will be showing them that as well the dealer makes it such a hassle i hope i wont have this issue to with the next one i will take it to.

How much would this cost out of warranty? I'm certain I have this issue but unfortunately I'm at 40k miles on my 2023 Accord.
The parts alone are $600 or so MSRP. Figure another $600 for labor. You are looking $1200 plus tax and other fees. I've seen quotes up to $1800.

The injectors are covered for longer in some places. Check the warranty documents.
