Like the title says, do you guys figure it will be possible to install the 60/40 folding rear seat from the 2016 9.5 gen Accord in a 9th gen? Anyone have a part number yet?
Yeah, the cabling I figure could be made to work, but good point about the latches.Possible? It may be possible. There's more to the split seat backs that meets the eye. Besides the seat backs themselves, the rear parcel shelf sheetmetal will have latches on either side of the car (welded or riveted to the structure), not just in the center like the single unit. The parcel shelf trim would be different to accommodate the latches. You'd have to have some place to mount the lower hinges for both pieces which might be welded to the body of the car. You'd need the additional cabling and release lever for the trunk. This would be very expensive, if it's even feasible to do.
Yup, skis with 3 people instead of 2.I mean the trunk opening is tiny anyways what worth does it really have? Skis maybe?
You could always do this. It was a cheap and easy mod.Like the title says, do you guys figure it will be possible to install the 60/40 folding rear seat from the 2016 9.5 gen Accord in a 9th gen? Anyone have a part number yet?
Yep, was thinking about that earlier. It requires some metal cutting for the seat back which I don't have the tools to do, but definitely a possibility in the future. You could always do this. It was a cheap and easy mod.
+1You'd probably be better off just trading your current 9th gen in for a 2016. It just wouldn't be worth the hassle to install all of the hardware necessary to get the split seats to work. Not to mention the cost involved, unless you can find them in a salvage yard. But since it's a car that hasn't even released yet, good luck finding any of them in a salvage yard for a LONG time.

Let me know if you need more pics or any tips. I got the materials from a u-pull yard off a 2002 Accord sedan. I just cut the hole for the pass through with a good set of tin snips and taped the edges so the sharp metal wasn't constantly rubbing on the upholstery. It turned out pretty awesome and cost me under 10 bucks.
junk in the trunk...or trunk in the junk.I intend to try this when I find the first 2016 Accord Sport in the junkyard. I'd be more worried about if the upholstery will match my current car.
