All maintenance is up to date. Did the plugs at 80k. Tires @ 80k. Oil changes every 10k miles (mostly M1). Brakes done. Coolant just had flushed/filled. Valve adjustment done recently as well. Accessory belt replanced. I'm trying to think of what other basic maintenance has been done....??

At the end of June, I gave my '03 to my 17-year old daughter with 123,000 miles on it. I bought it new in March of '03.

Not many problems through the years. Mobil-1 oil changes every 10,000 miles.

How much did they charge for the valve adjustment? Notice any difference in performance? Did they use a new valve cover gasket?

When I had my t-belt service done at the dealer($640 w/oil change) they reused the old vc gasket.

$240 for valve adjustment (5 adjusted) and coolant flush/fill. New gasket.

*Maybe* a slight improvement in upper rpm range. A bit more power but not sure. Could be psychological.

Don't feel bad about spending the $240. Be happy you don't have to pay for a t-belt service. After my last visit to the dealer they advertised the t-belt service, valve adj and new vc gaskets for over $950.

I finally meet someone who also does 10k oil changes. I go with Castrol Syntec myself.

why go so long on ur oil like that?????
Blind faith :D plus

I dont think I have ever in the last decade or more seen anyone or heard of anyone have engine problems due to leaving in syn oil 10k. In Europe BMW recommends 15k oil change intervals with syn oil. So going 10k is hardly a stretch.

Because oil is much much better then it was just a few years ago and so are the filters...The 3,000 or 3 months is old school not for the newer cars and newer oils...
Let's not leave out the fact that the owner's manual specifies the oil change interval recommended by the people who ought to know what's needed: the manufacturers. For my '03, that specification is every 10,000 miles.

Given that, it seems to me the question should be: why would you change oil on a schedule other than what is recommended by the manufacturer?

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me; I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

I hit 105k miles few days ago. My Accord still performs its best. I got a new set of BF Goodrich T/A tires from Sams, a new set of Centric rear rotors and Hawk pads, and front Hawk pads with the Brembo rotors that were replaced two years ago. K&N air filter and cabin filter from Ebay.

I did all the maintenance myself including oil change every 6k miles with Mobil1 synthetic and tranmission fluid change every 20k miles. I hope to keep this Accord for another 10 years:nuts:

Not at 100,000 yet, but I do have 54,000 on an '07. Shouldn't be too long...

:notworthy Whole lot of miles!!
The crazy thing is I've subbed other vehicles in on 10-12 trips that this thing was planned to be driven on...it could have had about 70,000 by now. :)
