Yesterday was bittersweet. I had to give up my much loved 2014 Accord Sport 6MT because of reoccurring issues with my left knee. When it hurts to clutch, driving becomes much less fun. My Doc hasn't been able to find anything obvious to cause the pain; probably the beginning of arthritis from past injuries.

I did decide to stay in the Accord family with my new car: a 2015 Accord Coupe EX-L V6. Negotiated a good deal IMHO, now have more amenities in the car, got to keep some of the mods I had done to the sedan, and drove away in a car with only 3 miles on the odo.

Here's to hoping I'll like it as much as I did the old Sport.

Sorry to hear about the knee. Let us know how it is going from a Sedan to a Coupe. The paddle shifters, V6 power and highway gas mileage should soften the blow of losing the 6MT.

Sorry man. I know how that feels. You'll never regret the switch - I certainly don't. My knee never liked clutching in my LX, but I'm able to get away with it in the Sport because of the additional seat adjustment options. Still, there's a very specific way it must be adjusted to keep the discomfort away. I suspect this will be my last MT daily driver, partly because they'll be gone in everything but sporty compacts (if not completely gone) by the time I'm buying my next car and partly because my knee will probably be less tolerant of it in my 40s than it is in my 20s.

On the bright side, you did just get a bigger engine. Enjoy it!

I understand your problem. My right shoulder makes it difficult to even hold the wheel in thr proper three and nine o'clock positions. I'm sure my pain is also arthritis. Getting old isn't for the faint of heart. Enjoy tour new ride. I love my coupe because it looks sexy, drives excellent and I don't have to transport my mother in law.

Traded a sport for the V6....sounds like a awesome upgrade to me!

Earlier this year I broke my right ankle. Had the pleasure of driving myself back home with this injury. Surprisingly it wasn't too painful to operate the throttle. Now the brake felt like needles going through the ankle. If it was the left ankle I'd have to have some one else drive the car back.

Enjoy the new car.

Those of us with high mileage on our personal odometers will face something similar sooner than we hope. Let us know how long it is before you stop looking for the absent clutch each time you get into the car and applying the parking brake when you get out.

Know your pain dude, I just did the same. I went from a 2013 Coupe 6/6 to a 2015 V6 AT. No comparison between the fun factor or speed of the two. Would stay with the MT for sure if I could. Flame suit on.

Congrats on the new car. I too am driving an automatic. Nerve damage in my back due to a blown disk left parts of my left foot are numb and shifting many times in traffic causes painful muscle spasms in my left leg. I can still drive a stick without trouble, as long as its casual driving and don't hold the clutch in at lights and such. Fortunately I bought my son a Subaru that is a stick and I still enjoy driving that around.

Anyway, I feel your pain. You'll be happy with that V6 though!

Thanks all for the encouragement and understanding.

I'd get a new knee :wink

At the very least try Glucosamine/Chondroitin for few months. Worked for me.

Enjoy the new ride. EX amenities & a silky V-6 - great combo!
I'm sure a new, titanium knee is in my future. If my original knee keeps on feeling like it has the last couple of months, I'll even welcome the change. I've been on a regimen of Glucosamine/Chondroitin for a while now, and whilst it normally helps, now not as much...

I'll put on the flame suit right along with ya. I've had the Coupe for two days and I miss the MT interaction already. But I'll get used to it.

A personal odometer is more a mental entity than physical :)
Truth. I just wish my knee understood that point ;)

I do love the EX-L amenities, and will so even more (heated seats) when the weather gets colder here in MI. And the coupe is sexier looking that the sedan (my opinion). Of course, I don't think the Crosstour is ugly either :paranoid:

Perhaps I'll start looking for a lower-mileage S2000 or something similar for when my knee is feeling good and I want an MT fix...

What kind of wheels?
They are 18" Konig Deception Reds. I originally had them on my '14 sedan, where they did look good, but they look better on the coupe. :)
