For anybody that has the EX-L models, are your leather seats starting to look like this?! It's pretty sad that Honda had to use cheap leather for the 8th gen. For a $30,000 car, this is unacceptable! When I first got the car last December, I don't think the seats were as bad like they are now. I did read reviews before I bought the car, but I didn't think it would happen to me. I do regularly clean the seats with Armor All leather wipes. Would've Lexol Conditioner prevented this? This is the driver's side seat:

WOW Really intense cracking..........

The seats in my 2010 accord are not bad as of right now.If this is what I have to look forward to I really need to invest in some top notch seat conditioner. In the past I was using meguiars in my Chrysler300 with ok results.

What is some good brands to consider???
I so need to get on this, I have only been using wipes on the seats since I bought her 4 months ago.

Tru, I refuse to use armor all on my interior, based on experience.
its plenty Good enough for my tires though.

@glen e swinging past the local parts store tomorrow to check out some seat conditioner.

thats just wear. it happens to all leather, granted the leather quality in the 8th gens isnt the best but with proper care it should be fine. Use something better than amorall .Its pretty normal however tho.. How many miles are on the car?

A little over 48,000. I think in the future when I'm in the market for a new car, I'm just gonna get the model with cloth seats. I'm kind of lazy when it comes to cleaning leather. I'm not expecting Honda leather to be like BMW and Mercedes, but I think this is still unacceptable. I hear the leather quality was better on the 6th and 7th gen. I don't know what happened with the 8th gen.

I mainly bought the EX-L V6 model because at the time, the dealer was selling it for just a little more than the EX models. The car cost $17,399 and had 34,041 miles when I bought it. I didn't want to pass on a good deal.

The leather in my '08 is starting to become like yours, but not as bad. So what are the best products to rejuvenate cracked leather like this? And I suppose there is another one to protect it right? I don't pay much attention to my leather, so how often should I be cleaning/protecting them?

LEXOL
Blackfire Leather conditioner
Cahmberlains Leather milk
So would these be good for protecting or rejuvenating?

I have an 09 EX-L V6 Coupe and care for the upholstery using Zymol cleaner and conditioner, and the seats still look great. I'm sorry your seats turned out that way, but leather does require more care. Even in a higher end car with premium leather the upholstery can still dry out and crack without proper care.

After I picked up the car

This pic was taken 1-2 days after I bought the car last December. It looks like the leather was still the same. I don't think it has gotten that much worse since I bought it. I am gonna start using Lexol. In the future, I think I'll just get a car with cloth seats.

No need to avoid leather; leather is very nice and enhances the comfort and luxurious feel of a car. Just have to take care of the seats better.
