Hidden hitch worth it (Draw Tite supposedly the same thing )

I had the Torklift Hidden hitch on my WRX and it was absolutely worth the cost, though kind of a pain to install and remove the bike rack each time. I'm really hoping someone comes out with a truly hidden hitch for our cars. Besides all of the chrome my curt hitch is the only other eyesore on an otherwise pretty good looking car (mine's a coupe).

That vertical one would be perfect if one of the manufacturers would make it for our cars. I had a similar style hitch on my miata and it was excellent. You'd think, with the number of Accords out there one of the manufacturers would invest in a better option for us.
I went with the Hidden Hitch ( aka Draw Tite ) on my Coupe to put my Thule Double Track carrier on for my recumbent bike. The Curt needed straps & I didn't want the hassle of those straps. Had a U-Haul rental store install my hitch for about $ 120 .00 (its been awhile) . Watched the installer & it took him about 35 minutes on the lift. The most time consuming part for him was the cutting of the metal heat shields. Inspected the work & liked what he did :nerd ! With just the hitch showing in back its noticeable but it looks fine ! I really don't think the hitch detracts from the Coupes backside because its so low ! Really worth every penny to me as I use this almost every weekend when the weather is nice. JM 2 pennies worth !

The Draw-Tite hitch on my '00 Coupe had bolt holes drilled through the spare tire well that never caused any problems. Took the hitch off when I sold the car in '16 (at 170K miles) and there no signs of rust inside or out. I bought a couple of snap-in black nylon/rubber plugs from the big box hardware store and popped them into the holes from the inside to seal things before I sold the car.

Too bad that old hitch won't fit my '16 Coupe.... :frown

And with 100's of choices, you can find a nice trailer hitch cover to put in the receiver when the rack isn't installed. Some of them wire into the system and light up when the lights are on and get brighter when braking. Just think of all the possibilities...! :nerd

I put the round Curt on my coupe. I had worried about the visibility of the hitch before i had it installed. After installing it the car is low enough that it is not noticable. I also now just leave the stinger in there and dont worry about removing it. Makes for a good conversation piece. Not a lot of hitches on an Accord. Me and my daughter just laugh while we are passing people on the freeway. The looks that we get.....Yup, you just got passed by a Honda....TOWING a trailer.. lol

Anyone have a low profile tow hitch that doesn't stick out or look obvious? I only see 2 for our cars, the standard draw-tite square tube and the curt round tube. I see they make a "invisi-hitch" from draw tite with a vertical receiver. Anyone have this or feedback? https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Draw-Tite/28501.html Any other options?

Plan on towing a small aluminum trailer and bike carrier.
@Joeggernaut I'm not sure if anyone else has posted the following hitch before, which has been confirmed to fit a 2017 Honda Accord by a research expert from etrailer.com with a video of the hitch being installed on a 2017 Honda Accord by scrolling to the videos section.

Yes, I saw those two hitches there and installation process for the curt and draw-tite ones. I think both are hidden enough and low enough that it doesn't matter that much, really just personal preference for square frame or round frame. I think I might go with square frame because that is what I had on my 2003 accord sedan and it didn't look that bad and the square is slightly narrower than than round.

I like that trailer, is it steel or aluminum? Did you custom make the rails for the ski, or is the ski just strapped on top of the flat bed? Any ideas on total weight of trailer?

I am looking to get a new trailer that is flat so I can haul different things like the stand-up, dirt-bike, or lowes/home depot trips.

It is make out of 1x3 steel tubing. I just screwed 2" black ABS pipe to the deck and that keeps the skis from sliding around. I dont know the weight 500lbs?

Sure like the Hidden Hitch look !

More pictures of my 6-6 Coupe with the Hidden Hitch aka Draw Tite.

Use a Thule Double Track for the recumbent bike. Really some neat features on that Thule including folding up when the bike is off.

Drawtite on 2016 Accord

Had a Drawtite installed on my 2016 Accord a few weeks ago (and the light hookup also.) Total job, supplies and all, about $370 US in Winnipeg, a bit over $500 CAN. The hitch required cutting and bending of the muffler shields, also removal without damage of the noise (?) insulating bit beneath the spare tire holder. Oh yeah, the electric was a plug and play set of wires especially for the Accord. The power module wire is routed via an inside route up to the battery. Looks ok. I'm one who likes to look good on the road so go from there. Call it vanity. All is vanity.

For a luggage trailer style look at Mr Bourne's creations at Marquez Texas () between Dallas and Houston. It's worth the drive. Have a good day!

Might want to re-read the thread.

I don't see anyone saying anything related to "I worry about what other people might think of my hitch".

I have in fact said that I care about how it looks on my car. Not sure why that would be a problem?
Don't be a prickface all your life like me.

Thanks
