Forgive the repost if such a poll exists, I did a whopping 5 minute advanced and regular search, didn't find a thread poll regarding the topic. I am curious to see the ratio of auto owners vs manual owners on the forum and specifically how they are broken down between v6 and I-4 owners.

I'm thinking the ratio of manuals owners on this forum is going to be surprisingly high compared to what you would see on the street. Also after you vote, if you could provide a description as to why you made your tranny/engine choice it would shed some light on the Accord demographic here on the forum. Vote Now!

I have an LX-S, I4 5 speed manual. I made the choice because I wanted manual, and wanted the V6, but could not afford the V6 model.

I made my choice because I had a 6th gen v6 auto Accord earlier in life and pined for a 6 speed to be put in it since the first accord had done a tranny swap.

In addition to the earlier dream, I love daily driving a smooth manual transmission. I’m also am performance oriented and need something to be most importantly reliable over the course of my planned 8 to 10 years of daily driving my Accord and be enough fun that I won’t get bored. Also the car needed to be respectable in the snow living here in CO; The Accord 6-6 for me does all those things and has done them all very well since I made my purchase.

I have the V6 Manual. I chose the Manual because of the "sportiness" involved with shifting through the gears. I also believe that it keeps my attention on driving more than an Automatic would. There are some days however, when I regret my choice. But there are very few of these days.

V6 auto in my '08 sedan.

Ideally, I would prefer a 6-6 coupe, but I'm 40 with a family and the sedan makes more sense.
I would love to have a V6, 6spd sedan, but that's not available.

I don't think I would enjoy driving a car this big/heavy with the I4, but the V6 is a blast, even with the auto.

Really, I bought this car because the price was right.
I paid $16375 in January '11 for a near-mint one-owner with 42k and a Carfax that details meticulous local dealer maintenance.

Well, the V6 coupe was the most important choice.

Automatic being second as it keeps good fuel economy with VCM.

Having a manual in the city really is a pain.

As far as thoughts about focusing on driving... it really does not matter.

I can be sporty with manual shifting the auto if I wanted to, but it does well on its own when jetting about in traffic.

I was not sure about Hondas 6spd reliability and function as there are a few issues with 3rd gear. But both autos and manuals have issues to some degree.

Since I read about the MDX spacer installs before making my purchase, I knew if I was not satisfied about the automatic, I can make a bolt-on upgrade to help on torque.

This is our first Honda, and the improvement with V6 engines since 10 years ago is a lot better than we expected.

Even the automatic is snappy (less slipage) than most we have driven from other manufactures.

i find shifting a PITA anymore. if i want to shift, i can use the paddle shifters. i must confess, though, i've only used them twice in 6 months on very hilly terrain.

V6 Auto sedan. Need the room & 4 doors. Need auto so wife can drive.

Why V6? Because I don't like the fog light area on the I4. Dual tips was a bonus.

I was referring to things such as texting, or eating. These things are much easier to do in an Automatic. I feel like I am less distracted.....thats just my feelings tho.

I went to a V6 Auto from my 2006 Civic. I wanted a new car and wanted the extra humph. I wanted the Auto since I spend a good bit of time in traffic. I got the best of both worlds and the car is soooo much nicer than my Civic.

Got the I4 Auto. Wanted every little bit of MPG i could get, coming from an '97 SUV that got 10mpg city and 15mpg max highway. Auto for convenience, and since most dealers in my area didn't have any at all. No V6 cause of the price, and the I4 has plenty of power even for its large size, gets me from point A to point B safely.

the only thing i would have changed it maybe have gotten a trim level higher (EX, i also prefer cloth seats).

Purchased a V6 auto coupe. My fiance and I are not at a point in our life where children are near in site , so we opted for the coupe (more sporty). We went with the auto because my fiance did not know how to drive standard and I wasn't ready to teach her on a brand new car or my 91 integra.

I had a 2005 I4 Manual Sedan. Loved it.
I always wanted a V6-6 sedan and didn't realize they made such a thing until recently. Apparently 2nd half of 7th gen (2006-2007) they made a 6-6 sedan. Looking to score one now, problem is the people that own them are drivers, all have 90,000 plus miles. They are only available as a loaded EX L w/Nav and at 100,000 miles they are 12,000-13,000 used. None of them for sale were driven by 10k miles/year grandmas.

V6 6MT.

I was coming from the 6 cylinder boxer engine that Subaru uses and wanted a car with more performance value, but also wanted decent fuel economy and one that would perform well in piss poor weather and snow. That meant FWD.

I wanted a car with great interior appointments (ruling out Subaru as a second go-around purchase, their interior ****ed in every new car I looked at when I was in the market 2 years ago), but all while keeping it under 25,000.

I chose the 6 speed manual as I had the 4 speed Auto with the Subaru, and it did not hold up to the power output of that engine over time (tranny failed at 120,000 miles), and I knew Honda had the same issue with their V6 autos, plus, in my opinion, after driving the V6 auto coupe in several different test drives (summing to 5 test drives, different vehicles, different dealerships), the honda auto transmission ****s. Both my Subaru outback and Ford Explorer had better automatic transmissions. All my opinion of course.

Love my i4 Daily driver! Just over a weak old and already getting 29.5 MPG! Couldn't ask for much more, and the 5MT is a dream to drive!

I don't know how to drive an AT; thus an MT. This is a true statement. My wife and kid yell at me for behaving like an old lady on the road when I am forced to pilot the MDX belonging to the missus.

Watch, now, I will catch flak from the old ladies on this forum who actually drive MTs!

Look at the ratio of V6 to I4 that is developing! There ain't no stinkin' tree huggers on this forum! :)

V6 6MT FTW!! Just got it yesterday and MAN that engine is so buttery smooth! This is the car I should have gotten 2 years ago! I'm not even driving it hard... I don't need to! This is such a well-made car. I am smitten!
