Hello Ladies and Gents ,

Here are a few pictures of my 8th gen after a week of installing my
Lamin-X film. I'm pretty much satisfied with outcome...FOR NOW, but I'm going to get them sprayed down the road.

What do you guys think?

Looks good.
I'm getting mine sprayed a cherry black like in a week.
How much was the film?

Not dark enough. I mean, given that you don't want anybody to know when you're braking/turning, and you don't want other drivers to be able to see you at night, you should have just painted them totally black.

It's gonna be fun when someone runs into the back of you and all fault will be appointed to you. Did you ever think of that?

Looks stealthy. Regards

I wouldn't go that dark personally but it does look nice.

My suggestion is that I wouldn't spray them. They don't have a glossy finish and although it may appear that way when you get them done they slowly will start to lose their "luster".. I have seen it first hand with many people that have gotten them smoked with spray. Maybe it's the heat from the light, not sure.

Regardless, I would consider leaving them the way they are and not spraying them. I don't know how strictly cops enforce things like this in Cali, but in New Jersey you would get pulled over every time that you started up your car. Wouldn't even surprise me if there wasn't a cop waiting for you outside your house to write you a ticket. I have the red portion of my tails lightly tinted as well, and I haven't had any problems yet.. you can still see a tint of red, and there is absolutely no difficulty seeing my break lights. (I made sure of it before i OKed the tint).

Basically, be careful. And remember, once it's sprayed it's permanent. At least it's a b!tch to take off... whereas with that you can just peel it off if you find that they are giving you too much unwanted attention.

I'm not a fan of endangering myself even more and increasing my chances of getting into a car accident. It's enough as it is with so many idiot drivers on the road, no sense in giving them more of an excuse to rear end me and then I get the blame for it...which I'm sure it'll most definitely happen.

Looks great!! Very nice job! I just wouldn't wanna be in the car with you when you need to use your brakes. Post some pics with the brake lights on during the day from 50ft. away and at night would like to see how bright they are. THANKS

Wow Markus! Your good... lmfao
That's the whole reason I didn't get the darkest film.

Oh, and NO!! It would not be funny if someone crashed in the back of my car!

Yea I know. I'm sure I'll get pulled over anytime know, but like you said... The good thing is I can peel it right off.

As for the cops go... they are pretty strict out here. The Buena Park PD is literally right around the corner from my place, but whatever it's a fix it ticket out here in Cali. I would have to remove the film and pay $25. I'm going to be trying something else with the tail lights in the next few months (If the cops don't pull me over and make me take it off before that) :).

Thanks uhohkaitlina,

Lol.... I'll take some pictures and post them as soon as I can.

Looks nice, but I'm with some of the others that find this too dangerous. I'd like to not only see how the brake lights look during the day when on, but also at night what the difference is between your night lights and brake lights.

What bothers me the most about these is during the day they're not easily noticeable when lit. At night when you hit the brakes it looks as bright as night driving lights.

+1

:thumbsdow

Looks good with your whole "blacked out theme" but it's too dark for my tastes. I was thinking about getting a light tint but I'm just going to leave it alone. I think the bright red contrasts nicely with the deep black color we have. BTW, how come I never see your car on the streets? I live in GG but travel thru cypress, buena park, stanton, and cerritos all the time. I have yet to cross another 8th gen with more mods other than wheels or HIDs.
