I have seen a couple of late 1980s Preludes on the road around here. If you keep the car maintained and you drive sanely then a Honda should last indefinitely. Check this section of Honda's website:
Hate seeing the older ones with rust here in NY. Was in FL for a business trip and saw a lot of older Honda's in great shape. They truly are great cars when taken care of.
My dad had a 87 prelude, I think it was a 87, it was his commuter car because he didnt wanna drive his truck 60 miles a day especially when the gas prices were high. It was a super clean car bought it from a elderly women. I wish he still had it.
