Its a damn good car for the price and has not let me down. The radio sucks, but I knew that going in and bought it anyway so thats on me. When looking to buy my two main goals were

*Reliability
*Fuel efficiency

It has delivered on both accounts.

23,769mi in one year. :banana:

That is all.

So for reliability I am assuming zero problems at this point. I'm certainly expecting the same from mine for a long time. Previous accord gave me 100k trouble free miles with only standard maintenance needed.

How has fuel efficiency been for you? I am getting around 30mpg with suburban driving and maybe 25% highway. I'm only on my 2nd tank though. First tank was crap (27ish) due to dealer idling and when I had leather installed they idled the car for a long time running the heat to set the leather. Do you have a fuelly account?

Surely there was a 3rd qualifier of driving enjoyment or I think you probably would have gotten the CVT which would do better on your assumed highway miles (nearly 24k in one year!!). I'm noticing that when I wake up on workdays my first thought is that I will soon get to drive the car again! Such a joy.

I feel the same. I find myself seeking out the curvy roads, and hills to power up.

Hey Karfreek, can you list all the upgrades to your car? I know you have done a lot of them. Im not upgrading my speakers until you do lol

I had to take it in for an allignment underwarranty due to a pothole in Schenectady NY. My Fault but because it was under 12k and no damaged components it was covered under warranty.

My airbag cover clicks, but never does it for the tech ride alongs. But it starts everyday and there have been no mechanical failures, so I say its reliable.

My tank over tank average for the past 1 year has been 29.10 MPG. That is about 70% hwy, 30% city. For comparison my 2005 Dodge Magnum RT was getting 18.43 tank over tank for 17months on the same drive cycle.

Yes. Fun to drive/manual was on there too. But, the reliability & Fuel economy (Gas VWs are bad on the MPGs) is what took VW out of the running for me.

Dealer Installed at delivery:
* Body Side Molding
* Rear Deck Lid Wing (The one with the CHMSL built in)
* Rear Bumper Aplaque (the clear film to prevent scratches to the bumper.

By me:
* Honda Trunk Liner
* Tint (35% side, 20% rear window)
* Foot well LED lighting that comes on with doors ajar
* AVS Aeroskin in chrome
* Thule AeroBars (For bike and Ski racks)
* Leather Shift knob from a Sport.
* Aux XM Tuner
* Roof Spoiler
* "Honda" mudflaps (The old school kind that are cut flat pieces of rubber).
* Red "2.4L" badge on the trunk lid

I think thats all of them.

BTW- I ordered the speakers today. They should deliver on tuesday. Damn weekend getting in the way....

That's really great mileage. I'm only getting 26mpg combined suburban. I wonder if it has something to do with the heavier, wider wheels on the sport.

It's that or just I have a friendlier commute, perhaps. There is a nice middle stretch where I can usually time the lights so effectively it is "slow highway" going 55 or so for about 5 miles. Then I have a 2-3 mile highway section at the end, but there is a steep on-ramp (slightly offset by equally steep off-ramp, but a very sharp turn doesn't let me keep much momentum leaving the highway). I do have a lot of opportunities to get stopped, though. Some commutes are down 28.5 or 29 while others can hit 32-33. These are single trip numbers - ~20 miles or so.

The EX/Sport are rated the same 24/34 regardless of the wheel/exhaust differences so most likely it is route or driving style that is the difference. When I am driving lazily with traffic I typically upshift around 2000rpm and try to get in and stay in 6th as quickly as possible. If I am first at the light or launching uphill I will not upshift till 2500-3000 rpms. Sometimes I want to skip gears and have done that a few times but after some reading I'm still debating whether that is a habit I want to get into.

Where do I find this Red 2.4L badge?

They also have blue. My previous car had one.

I'll be looking around for it on the road to see if anyone purchased it. Mine was almost 14 months old, and 14,433 miles when traded.

LOL!!! I don't pay attention to all that. I just drive the darn thing. Considering that I drive pretty aggressively all the time. 26-27mpg is pretty good then.
