Hello guys, I am recently new to this forum and semi recently a Honda owner. I have owned my 2016 Honda Accord V6 since the beginning of January now and have only added a pretuned performance Ecu chip. I know, I know, this car isn’t worth investing a ton of money into. That’s why I’m not going to turbo it or anything. What else should I do to gain some basic extra power? I don’t want to do a cold air or anything else that doesn’t have a better power to cost ratio.

Can you send the ECU chip back? They are usually a bad idea. If you really want to substantively improve the tune, get KTuner or Hondata. KTuner has some decent canned tunes and some nice features you can use without getting into the complexities of really serious tuning. I've never used Hondata but have heard good things about their system.

Thank you for the insight. No, I can’t send it back, but I was considering getting a tuner and just selling the programmer.

Hello guys, I have been following this forum for a while now but haven’t signed in yet (‘16 Black Demon) lol. I have a 2016 V6 and all I have is a preprogrammed chip that gave me roughly 60hp and 40tq gain. I’m looking to start building the engine up now, and I want reliable, yet affordable parts to start building it. Any suggestions on sites? Or reliable sellers on EBay or amazon?

Are you sure you are after more power? Isn't 60HP and 40 lb ft torque enough?

My suggestion? Buy and install a second "preprogrammed chip" and you will have 120 HP and 80 lb ft torque more imaginary power.

Everyone knows how well those "Chips" work.

I know services where you can unplug your ECU and send in the ECU, the tuner throws a canned tune on it and ship it back to you, but I don't think this is what OP is talking about. Tuning alone to get that much more out of a naturally aspirated engine is also very questionable.

And if you are unlucky enough, these chips can potentially fry your computer, so these are a bit more dangerous than just paperweights.

Welcome, new members!

Could you each please post what chip this is (brand and model number), and how much it cost you. Also, could each of you please post dyno sheets showing the gains?

Thanks!
