CT
$22,900

Still not a bad price, and at least you were able to find a 6MT. Most dealers don't want to budge much on them since they know a diehard enthusiast would pay close to sticker. I was hoping to have my out the door price at $23,000 or less and was only shy by $94. I ended up putting down $8,000($5,000 on my credit card to get $75 in cash back), so I was pretty close. I plan on paying the credit card off at the end of the month as well so I don't incur any interest charges.

FINALLY! I got it

2017 Accord Sport SE CVT
Obsidian Blue
22525.00
Doc Fee 799.
Title Processing 269.00
Florida Tire Fee 5.00 (the nerve.)
Florida Battery Fee 1.50
Florida Lemon Law Fee 2.00
Florida Sales Tax 1414.77

Total Selling price 25,102.62

Opinions? Got a trunk mat and wheel locks thrown in because they weren't in the quote but were already on the car. 1.9% financing. If you are in South Florida and want to get a Honda let me know and i'll give you my sales guys info. It was stupid how easy they made this process. I sent my price from them to Rick Case and they pretty much accused me of lying. I'm going to swing by there tomorrow to tear their manager to shreds.

Finally, I got the car I wanted:
2017 Accord Coupe V6 Touring Automatic Black/Black
$35 400 MSRP
$30 000 Price negotiated
$500 Protection package (dealer wouldn't budge on taking it off)
$4 400 Trade-In Equity Value (they gave me $9 000 for my Dodge Dart and I owed $4 600) (everyone else gave me $7 000)
-----------
$26 100 Price
+
$2 300 TTL & Reg fees
-----------
$28 400 OTD
Turnersville, NJ

Might not be the best deal possible but I feel good about it, especially since I was offered almost the same price but for the 2016 model.
I love my new car and can't wait to hit 500 miles and step on it a bit lol

@bgreen83, @gmanusmc, @GolftangoV2, @KW2004Accord thanks guys for your input!

Congrats on a very nice new Accord! I am jealous - haha.

I'm pretty confident you will be very happy you pulled the trigger - that is a great price and in no time you won't give the trade in part of the transaction a second thought. You're gonna have so much fun driving that thing!

Enjoy!

2016 Accord Coupe EX Sensing Blue/Black

$28,570 - MSRP
$23,120 - Price negotiated
$355 - GAP
$1,798 - Sales Tax
$288.55 - Fees
$750 - Down
$6380 - Negative equity due to trade of 2015 Crosstour.

OTD $31,271.25

If it wasn't for the negative equity on the trade-in it would have been a nicer deal. However, having GAP on this deal makes me drive so much more comfortably.

2017 Accord Sport Sedan 6MT white on black

them take off those options, or at least not charge for stuff i dont want.

Accord EX-Sensing quote

Hello,

We are in the market for a 2017 Accord EX with Sensing. This is the quote I have, wondering if I can get it down to less than 26k OTD

MSRP $28505

Price quotes I am getting are 23,300-24,000 before destination fees and add ons.
Tax stays steady at $1550
OTD prices range from $26,600-$26,200 (depending on what ad ons I can get them to discount/remove)

Wondering if I can get this below $26k OTD, since 5 of these quotes in the same city are so tight. Basically asking if its realistic to get another $700 or more off where they are coming from.

I read that some here say 15% off MSRP is a good deal. Is that before destination charges? If so, I'm already under that threshold. I'm just wondering what more is realistic.

Look outside your area, drive a little & you may be able to save a lot. Dealerships that sell in larger volume around metro areas can afford to give larger discounts. Tell them that the destination cost is their responsibility as it being part of doing bussiness. Make it clear upfront that you don't belive in paying processing or other bogus fees. See what true car & Costco in your area (if possible) qutoes you (subtract $500 from the true car price - what dealer pays them), use as a benchmark. Don't go by MSRP % OFF, each deal is different depending on many factors. According to tell me the best (price).com/honda, an EX with sen. is now $23,212. Some add on's can have as much as a 500% mark up.

Direct me if I am in the wrong forum...

Will soon be purchasing a Honda Accord new. Currently we are 4 months away from paying of a Honda Finance 0.9% on the Honda Odyssey we own (and are keeping)

Does being a current customer help in getting the 0.9% this time on an accord? Obviously we are "good for it"

We have good credit 780/800. But when we bought, they dicked around with horrible financing options (like 4.5%). In the end we did get the 0.9% but it was a PIA. Wondering if this makes our chances better than not.

Also in the process of getting pre-approved from our bank. Just wondering if having a recent 0.9% auto loan from Honda helps our case any.

Btw... I could either pay off the odyssey loan or put a down payment. My plan was to do the down payment and pay the loan off in the next few months as scheduled.

I would try another dealer. I think most Honda dealerships still has the 0.9 APR deal going on, on most 2017 models.

Don't take the 4.5 they are giving you since you have very good credit.

I know. I think what I'm trying to say is in 2013 they tried 4.5% financing. Said we didn't qualify for 0.9%. After much headache got the 0.9% after all.

Now that it's 2017. I'm going to purchase a 2nd car. Does the 2013 loan of 0.9% (that is almost paid off) give us any "proof" that we should qualify for 0.9% today?

I just recently bought a new Honda Accord and financed through Honda. They pull Equifax. My wife and I were scored at 821 and 824, so they naturally offered us 0.9%. I would make it very clear that you only want your financing to be sent to Honda, and if for some reason you cannot get 0.9%, you will secure your own financing. Finance managers can "spread the rate." This essentially means one of their lenders may approve you for lets say 1.9%, but they tell you that the lender approved you at 3.9%. By them jacking the rate up, the lender they sell your loan to will make more in interest. They will pay the finance manager a larger "reserve" or "flat" based on how much they up sale your rate for. How do I know this? I've worked for banks that offer financing to dealerships. We would pay the dealership a larger "reserve" if they send a loan to us for more than what we would have approved their buyer for naturally.

Another thing to consider, if they tell you that your rate is higher than what you expected, ask to see your credit score. They can show it to you on paper, and if you have a high 700/low 800 score, you shouldn't have any issues getting 0.9% unless your debt to income ratio is very high or if you've had late or slow payments in past(in which case your score probably wouldn't be so high anyways). Hope this helps!

Your credit score will qualify you for Honda Finance's best rate. If the dealer tells you anything different, you should speak with the General Sales Manager or seek another dealer.

Honda dealerships currently offer 0.9 for 48 months and 1.9 for 60 months on good to excellent credit. Niece purchased new civic 3 weeks ago. The financing applies to all honda models I think.
