Question has probally been answered before many times, but here it is. I have already swapped out my stock HU for a Pioneer x910BT unit. I have the unit ran with the stock speakers, minus using the sub due to the sub output is RCA wires and im assuming the stock amp doesn't have RCA inputs for the amp.

I planned on upgrading the sub/amp later on, but the question is, if I do it early, will it void any warranty on electrical since I am running power wires from the battery to the back for AMP power? I keep on getting mixed answers about this. I'm sure the dealer will just say changing anything will void the warranty which I know it doesn't. But I don't want to void the electrical warranty on the whole car system. I'm having my friend help me install it (well he is the expert on audio stuff) if I do decide to upgrade the system early. Might also upgrade the speakers at the same time.

Also, any suggestions on amp and subs? Seen many of different brands used on the forum. I want to install only one sub for now, but still want to leave it open so I can put another sub in down the line if I want.

Your warranty will be fine as long as you install the system correctly (like using a fuse on the power wire from the battery). Don't tap into random wires and you will be fine. If your dealer is bad enough that they will try to tell you your warranty is void for installing a stereo than you need to find a better dealer.

What speakers, amps, and subs to get depends on what you want to accomplish and what you want to spend. Can't really give you any specific recommendations without knowing that. One thing I can suggest is not replacing the rear speakers, using the money you save to get a better set of components for the front, and setting the fader all the way to the front. Before I get flamed by some on here, you will still hear sound around you because it will reflect off surfaces of the car. Your backseat passengers will still have great sound. The imaging will be better because all of the sound sources will be coming from the front.
