Hey,

I just noticed that our 2015 Honda Accord Sport's rear seat has the rear wheel well body paneling showing through the gap on the rear seats on both sides. It is the area where the seat belts go into the seats. The part of the rear seats that doesn't fold down; or, sort of the lateral support part of the rear seats.

I just noticed this recently and wasn't sure if it's defect or part of how it is.

Anyone else with 2015 Honda Accord Sport have this gap showing body panel behind rear seats?

Was the seat bottom ever removed for some reason? Looks like it didn't get pushed all the way back.

Thanks for the reply trickbiker...

Makes me glad, but also sad that this is normal. We've had the 2015 Accord Sport for over a year now and I just noticed this recently. Not sure what changed, whether the foam on the bottom seat got flatter over time that created the gap, or it was there all along and I didn't notice it.

In anycase, I decided to buy a piece of 2" foam from Walmart ($7); cut a piece off and stuck it underneath the left and right bottom seats to fill in the gap, hoping the extra padding would elevate the seats to eliminate that gap. It worked!

Here is a picture of the seat now, without the gap! I also sat on it to double check if it would hold and it did!

Not that I know. I don't know if anyone tried to remove the seat. But, the problem seems to be not so much the seat not pushed all the way back; the bottom seats doesn't go forward or backwards and just pops off or up when the two bottom latches are released;

the problem seems to be height; like, the seats sunk over time creating the gap.

Anyway, I stuck two pieces of 2" foam underneath the right and left bottom seats and it seemed to have done the trick.

I did this by unlatching the two latches at the bottom of the left and right bottom seats. Once done, the bottom seat can be lifted up. The middle section is still bolted on. But, it was enough room for me to lift up the bottom seats and placed the foams underneath the seats.

I noticed this when I was sticking my hand down there to remove the bolt for the side bolster, and the gap didn't close all the way when I pulled my hand out. I was doing the rear shelf rattle TSB. I haven't really noticed it since then because you have to look at it at a certain angle to notice it.
Good idea about the foam though.
