For those of you who have the 2018 Accords, does the low seating position bother you at all? When I test drove the car on 2 seperate occasions it seemed weird how low I was when looking at the doors, especially compared to my 2017. I am 6 feet. Has anyone not bought the car here because of it?

I'm 6'2" and love the positioning of the seat in the car. During test drive I actually dropped the seat all the way down but upon taking delivery I left it at the stock height. Have you tried raising the seat? I like how it sits low enough to put my feet out in front of me comfortably.

It's fine.

The car looks lower than it actually is die to the roofline.

The seating position isn't too low and you don't feel like you can't see out of the car.

I have a 2018 1.5 Touring and when I raised the driver's seat all the way up it was WAY too high. I am 6 feet tall. I played with the adjustments until I was totally comfortable and then played with the steering wheel. I moved it up and down and in and out until it was comfortable and I could see all the dash gauges. I am in total comfort driving now.

No. Seat is fine with a large adjustment range up/down and back/forth.

Interesting responses. I sat with the seat all the way up and just found it a bit weird how high the doors were. Will be testing a 2.0T soon so will see how it feels again.

No, it was a pleasant surprise to me, and gives it that sporty feel that the previous generations lacked. However, you shouldn't have to force yourself to get used to a seating position that doesn't feel right. Many ppl are buying SUVs particularly because they feel like they have a commanding view of the road.

Surprised nobody asked how tall you are. If you're 5.5-5.10 foot tall, I'd imagine the doors are tall and huge. For us tall guys everything seems to be just fine. With the seat all the way up most me would have their head in the roof so door panel height wouldn't matter much.

For OP? No one asked because he stated he is 6 foot tall in his initial post.

I think a lot of this discussion will hinge around what type of car your were driving prior to the new accord, because that's what's going to serve as everyone's reference point. I'm only 5' 7", and definitely feel like this is a lower driving position compared to the Altima I used to drive, but not to the point that I haven't quickly gotten used to i t. However I also think it's reflective of the current trend in car interiors to "wrap" the car around the driver a bit more. What's actually taken me longer to get used to is how much more in-board the driver seat is....it just feels like the side armrest and window sill are miles away compared to where they were in the Altima.

I would think it would be a little ridiculous to not buy the car because the window sill is higher.... this is something you would quickly get used to and the seat is prwttt adjustable so you should be able to get it comfortable.

I have not test driven the 2018 Accord yet but, I did go by the dealership last month on a Sunday when they are closed. I came across a 2018 Touring and a 2017 EX-L that were both unlocked. I sat in both cars and yes, I agree 110% that the 2017 has more open side view then the 2018. I am 5'10 and long legs. Also, the center console does protrude onto my right knee some. For short drives, most people will not know about this. On longer drives they will notice these things and it can become annoying and uncomfortable.

Not an owner but several test drives. I don't mind the position in the car. I'm a long torso. Getting out when I'm done is a bit of an adventure though and might not be fun with a sore back or after a long drive.

The Sport is a much better fit for my build but the car itself isn't. Damn Moonroof's.

yes 1.5 touring the seating to me seems too LOW. i am 6ft and the height adjustment all the way up doesn't seem high enough for me.

Exactly how I felt. Test drove a 2018 Camry XLE after my initial impressions from weekend before on the 2018 Accord, and I did not have to have the seats all the way up. Sight lines all the way around was great. Plus no right knee nudging on the center console. I will be renting an 18 Camry tomorrow for a week from Toyota to see if I can live with day to day drive from work to home and other drive.

I have sat in it several times and agree it is ridiculously low but because the driver can height adjust, it helps the naturally low position that some like because it's "sporty". I love that in an S2000 but not in a family sedan.

If you find the driver's seat odd, try the passenger seat. I'll not say anything else other than if you plan to have a passenger up front, just check it out and let us know your thoughts.

High doors are the norm these days pioneered by the Chrysler 300 giving us short window syndrome.

The Accord, like most non luxury cars also suffers from short seat bottom syndrome. 0 under thigh/knee support.
Lux cars have thigh extenders.
