I wish you could shut it off. Then again if you stand on it it goes off :)
BTW the auto is faster than the stick.
Trust me you wont want more unless you have had a 500 or 600 horsepower car as the tourings close to 300 ponies are plenty.

You can turn of VCM with Ktuner or Flashpro. And I'm not sure what your talking about the auto being faster. Sure it may shift gears faster than a human hand, but it's not going to put down as much power to the ground due to parasitic lose.

FYI, 6MT does not come with VCM so we don't have to worry about that to begin with. :wink

That and they are usually 60+ pounds heavier than the manual transmission version.

You might also want to check out VCM Muzzler as well as a more cost effective alternate to a flash. I'm just not sure if the VCM Muzzler will completely rid the Accord of all VCM vibration, or just reduce the vibration considerably.

VCM can either be disabled by VCMuzzler/VCMTuner, which is cheaper but less "proper", or a KTuner tune, which is more expensive but more stable. Personally, I think you should only go with the KTuner if you are going to do other tunes anyways.

I find it a little strange when I looked up and found out that, according to Car and Driver, 6-6 is 0.2 seconds slower than V6 AT in 0-60 time. Usually, MT Accords have more aggressive gear ratios, and like you said, they are more power efficient and lighter.

That said, with some more performance cars like modern muscles, ATs are indeed faster than MTs. Take Dodge Challengers, for example, the 8AT version has much more aggressive gearing than the 6MT version. The first gear ratio on the 8AT of 392 SRT is about 4.7, while the first gear ratio on the 6MT is about 2.9. I would still grab a MT if I have to choose, though.

Maybe you can post a link to your reference? Because the article I ran across is stating that the 2016 V6 6MT is 0.2 seconds slower than the 2013 V6 6MT...

"Power is unchanged compared with the last Accord coupe we tested (a 2013 model), and the cars weigh within six pounds of one another. It’s also a negligible two-tenths of a second slower to 60 mph—a still-quick 5.8 ticks"
2016 Honda Accord Coupe V-6 Manual Test ? Review ? Car and Driver

Still I digress. Lets get this thread back on topic.

On the subject of acceleration, here are the numbers from C&D for the V6 Sedan 6AT, Coupe 6AT, and Coupe 6MT. ( I hope the pages are legible.)

The 0-40 time is very telling of traction off the line:

• Sedan 6AT – 3.2 seconds
• Coupe 6AT – 3.1 seconds
• Coupe 6MT – 3.3 seconds

The MT is worst off the line. Wheel spin is hard to control.

The 0-100 time is very telling of HP:

• Sedan 6AT – 14.6 seconds
• Coupe 6AT – 14.0 seconds
• Coupe 6MT – 13.7 seconds

To evaluate real life road power, the 40 mph to 100 mph is most telling (60 mph change in speed):

• Sedan 6AT: 14.6 – 3.2 = 11.4 sec
• Coupe 6AT: 14.0 – 3.1 = 10.9 sec
• Coupe 6MT: 13.7 - 3.3 = 10.4 seconds

Once off the line, the 6MT has a solid advantage. It accelerates from 40-100 one second faster than the Sedan and .5 seconds faster than the Coupe. To be fair, with 18" wheels verses 19" wheels for both 6ATs, the 6MT had a very slight advantage.

But lastly, look at the braking distance from 70 mph!

• Sedan 6AT – 176 feet
• Coupe 6AT – 172 feet
• Coupe 6MT – 190 feet

190 feet is horrible for the 6MT! Why is that? Tires? 190 feet verses 176 feet is probably more significant than 11.4 sec v 10.4 sec from 40 mph to 100 mph.

But also note that road tests are not exactly consistent. Here is another C&D test for the V6-6MT:

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2013-honda-accord-coupe-v-6-manual-test-review

5.6 seconds to 60 mph, 13.4 sec to 100 mph and a 103 mph trap speed. If you trust this test the 6MT is by far faster. But look at the braking from 70 mph. 186 feet! Still pretty bad.
