On 5/30/16 i bought a 1997 Accord EX 4 dr with 190,XXX miles Super Clean dark green 5 speed (manual)

Drove it to the lake with the oil in it. Easily put 500 miles on it already.
On the way back i got pulled over by a Sheriff for speeding. He asked me any reason i was speeding. I told him my speedometer was broken. He let me go with no ticket and even gave me directions back to the city. So before i run out of luck i would like to fix my speedometer.

Any suggestions? My dad said it was the speedometer sensor in the transmission.
Because sometimes it works and all of a sudden it will go to zero and vice versa from zero to the speed you are running.
Any help?

double check with an OBDII bluetooth scanner first. to see if your ECU knows what speed the car is going when the speedometer does not work. and if the ECU knows how fast the car is going, Replace your Speedometer, or check to see if there is not an electrical fault.

Thanks easymike i downloaded an app in the meantime to read my speed. We hooked up a OBDII scanner and it IS reading the mph so i think its safe to say the speed sensor is fine. All being said I think I need a new speedometer. Thanks for your guys concern comments and help

I installed the used speedometer with 242,xxx. I think it is safe to say that it fixed the problem... When i turned the car on oil light was blinking but now it appears to have went away. Any idea why it blinked? But now on to the suspension. It seems like more than just rotors being other than wobbling to a stop it hops to a stop. I got the rotors in the mail. They will be here on July 11th. Then we will see whats still malfuncioning. Any tips or advice to keep tuning/maintenancing for the better of my accord?
Aluminim Mishimoto radiator etc?
