I have a tw coupe and just looked under the car and theres a white foamy looking texture that runs along each side of the side skirts. I touched it and it feels spongy. At first, I thought I ran over some paint or gunk but the texture runs in a straight line under both sides. Theres also equally spaced 2 inch foamy circles all along the bottom running the length of each side.

Do you other coupe owners have the same thing?

I picked up my car from the dealership late on a rainy night last saturday, so I told them i'd let them detail the car when I come back for the plates. The coupe still has a lot of plastic coverings in the interior and some under the hood...so maybe there was styrofoam or something similar along the sides...and it melted onto the underbody?

They all have it. I believe it to protect the back panels from rocks and stuff from the wheels.

first thing dont let them detail your new car.. god forbid they use crap stuff and bam scratches in your new paint

Its sealer that's applied to seams & also acts as a sound deadener. I saw it on the Discovery Channel not along ago about auto plants. :thmsup::thmsup:
