Hello,

I recently purchased a 2004 Honda Accord EX which runs great and everything, but their is no backlighting for the cruise control and stereo control buttons on the steering wheel. So when I am driving at night I can't see the buttons if I want to turn on the cruise control.

I took it back to the dealership where I got it and they said that the buttons on the steering wheel do not light up?

Can someone confirm if this is true? I would think they would because its a major hindrance if I want to control the cruise control at night.

Also, if they are supposed to light up, is there a manual somewhere that I can follow so I can replace the lights myself?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

04 does not light up. 05 and up does. you can retrofit, but you have to run your own power wires.

its not too big of a deal. give it some time and you will get used to the button placement. then you can use them without even looking at them.

It shouldn't take long to remember where the buttons are and you won't care about back light.

There was a thread on this somewhere with a breakdown of which the connector pins to tap for power and what not i did mine, just a note if you have the brushed aluminum trim in your car get a set of switches off an 05 or up tsx that way they match.

if u log lots of freeway miles like i do, u will love the cruise control function. it's like paddle shifter, u can accelerate, decelerate ur speed without using ur gas pedal. but if u're driving lots of city street then it's no used.

Can you add the audio controls to an LX? Or do you have to get the radio from an EX for that to work?
I don't know for sure without doing some serious digging, but I would venture to guess that you would have to replace the radio. The other issue you would be faced with is if the steering wheel has the wires ran through it or not. I would also guess that it does not which would mean that you would have to replace it too. Don't quote me on that though.
