Excited, should be purchasing my new Accord coupe V6 EX-L in about an hour and I've been planning on swapping out the factory stereo for my Pioneer AVIC-8000. Has anyone purchased or used this install kit yet???

-Mike

I'm surprised at 46 views and no comments?

BTW, I think I just bought a new car...

Here's the link to what I'm talking about:

That kit has been out for a few months now. I constantly check online to see if anyone
has done it because I'm interested in changing that stock radio. Let us know if you do.
Good luck on your purchase. You'll love the car.

Yeah, feeling nervous trading in my 2009 Altima. Had a lot of fun memories and experiences with that car. Put on a fun 114000 miles.

I'm hoping to have the same enjoyment with this car too. If I take ownership today I'll order the kit. Maybe start my stereo install next week. Use to be a car audio installer while in college till I graduated and become an RN. Still like the hobby though.

Don't be nervous, You'll love the car. I guarantee you that. I am an installer too.
I also installed during my college years (no student loans thanks to that  )
You'll find the install quite simple. I hooked up 2 JL audio 12w6's, a JL audio 1000/1v2,
a JL audio 300/4v2, Focal components all around, and a Clarion EQ.
Sounds freaking awesome but I want a head unit instead of the crappy stock radio.
Keep us posted if you decided to change that radio. Good luck once again.
You won't regret the purchase. I still get excited about driving it lol.

Took delivery if a V6 EX-L coupe automatic yesterday. Ordered the dash kit last week, told I should get it in two weeks. Just planning my install now and I'll post more into as soon as I get the dash kit.

Btw, I noticed a cosmetic difference between the scosche and metra kits. While the metra kit has the i-mid integration, the scosche has the silver accents where the metra does not. Might be purchasing both depending on how things look.

I should be getting the kit next week. As for now just plotting the layout of my sound system. I already have everything to start, only additions will be dynamat and a new fiberglass sub box. The sub box will be a fun summer project but there's enough space on the driver's side behind the wheel well in the trunk for it. I'll also have plenty of space for access to my spare tire as well. As for the amp I'm hoping that'll fit under the driver's seat and my crossovers under the passenger seat. Routing the amp wire through the firewall looks like a fun little project. Remote start also looks interesting. Too bad we are limited on decent weather here in Wisconsin.

Does the Pioneer allow you to feed in the input from the Accord's rearview camera or do you need to switch to theirs?

Also can you feed in the side view camera? If so, do the quick controls work for that??

Thanks,
E

With the Metra interface I'll still keep the function of the i-Mid setup like the backup camera and the right side camera. I believe those controls will be made through the steering wheel along with the controls that I already have the adapter for. I haven't read any posts about using this kit but once I get it in hand I'll scan the instructions for everyone and start planning my install.
