Alright so I purchased the Teyes CC3 for my car and months after trying to install it I had realized the head unit was designed for the LX trim (single screen). I had contacted them regarding this and they had suggested a circuit board which may or may not allow the head unit to work for my car. I attached the file regarding the circuit board they had described. As far as making it work, is it possible to make the two work while also retaining things like steering wheel control and reverse camera? Any advice would be a big help. I will also include a picture of the head unit for the LX trim and a picture for the EX-L trim

In short, get the seller to accept return for a full refund, you're in hook for shipping unless you can argue wrong item was sent vs listing. There is no easy way of doing it the way you approached it.

Yeah but I don’t think they’re going to give me a refund since it’s been past the refund date. Even if it’s not easy is it possible to make it work?

Give a better description of what you did or trying to do.
First start with your year, model ,trim, engine size.
Two, it looks like you took steps backwards from exl unit to lx. Was that the intention?

So the car I’m trying to install it on is the 2013 accord v6 manual EX-L coupe. I hadn’t realized that the head unit was compatible with the LX base trim model only until months after purchasing it. The ex-l includes reverse camera, sub, right lane watch, etc which I’m assuming is why it’s not compatible with my car. The I-Mid screen on top does not support the head unit as it was not designed for it. I included a circuit board chip pdf which is supposedly going to make it work but the company had not given me any garuntees, rather they said they have no clue regarding the engineering behind the chip and it may or may not allow it to work. I was wondering if I could get some insight on it

I would not get that deep into circuit boards in your place especially it it is not guaranteed not well documented. By the sound of it you do not have much knowledge in electronics.

Perhaps someone from Canada can shine more light onto the avail or not avail specs or comparison of Canadian vs US models. But I'm US EX-L trim pretty much has it all: backup, lanewatch.

Why are you swapping the unit?

Yeah so the Canadian EX-L pretty much has everything too from backup, lanewatch, sub, nav etc. I’m just looking for an upgrade in head unit in terms of just having an open source android plus carplay/android auto. The reason I’m trying to make this one specifically work is because I actually really like the UI they designed and it’s specs for an android. If it’s not at all possible I’m just going to get the Dasaita Head unit which is compatible with my car but I’d definitely like to try first. I’ve tried with a bunch of audio stores and they seem to be shot in the dark with trying to get it to work. Kinda posting here as a last straw if anyone may have some insight or can provide some hope. :)

It is not as simple as you think this may be, especially swapping out pcb, 2hich seems to be the PCB for the upper screen anyway. The upper screen really is just a dump screen that mirrors some of the info from the main head unit. Search through this subsection of forum 5obsee what people did with their installs. Some removed factory unit, but lost controls to settings of the vehicle only available through the stock head unit. Some retained the control of the settings by burying the stock head unit and splicing in the new one in parallel with the old one. Some used metra adapters to keep some aforementioned features, but it seems their satisfaction level is limited.

Fortunately I got in touch with the company and they’ve told me they’re releasing the CC3 plus which is supposedly going to work on my car now. So I’m just going to ship this back and they’re going to send me the new one. Hopefully it works out. Is there anything I should keep an eye out for or risks with installing android head units?

I would tread lightly....I bought one for mine and ended up smoking the unit (my fault) but sending it in to an electronics place to get repaired. Shouldn't be too expensive. Anyways, what they don't tell you is that exposed pcb they send with the unit is the piece that replaces the pcb in the small imid screen. The instructions were all in Chinese, google translate helps some but the install isn't too bad. It really is plug and play. Just make sure you disconnect your battery and double check everything before you fire it up.

@Midnighter427 Any updates with your vehicle yet? I'm installing the cc3 on my EX-L 2017 2.4L w/NAV. The canbus came with the facias works with steering wheel buttons and informations from doors and AC. But the iMid screen only shows in Chinese and the steering parking system not working.
