I'm coming from a 9th gen which wasn't great but I managed by putting a small pillow in between the the crevice. About 900 miles into a new 22 ex-l hybrid with leather seats, these are deal breakers. Super stiff and even with the lumbar off completely, it feels like there's a hump jabbing my back. Can't drive 5 minutes without pain. With so many of these cars out there, I can't be the only one. Tried everything on amazon with no solution. Everything is too thick and moves me even more forward. I'm averaged sized and I my thigh still hangs over the seat. Can't imagine how it'd feel to be tall. Any solutions besides ripping the seat off and replacing it? I'm thinking of buying a half inch memory foam sheet and making a back and seat cushions.

Try the Camry seats. Im a big guy and trust me, those Accord seats are like a memory foam compared to those hard steel rock seats in the Camry.

With that said, try looking for some Nissan NASA inspired seats. Best in the biz. There are some back pillows in the market, just gotta search for them in like Etsy or Ebay; not sure if Amazon will have them.

Sorry that you don't like the seats in your Accord. Maybe take it to an upholstery shop and see wha they suggest. I'm pretty sure that they use the same leather seats in the EXL and Touring trims other than the vented seat feature - and the seats in my Touring are pretty comfortable.

Luckily resale values are pretty high- you could probably trade in your Accord for nearly what you paid for it... assuming that you didn't pay more than MSRP. You may lose a few hundred bucks- but I'd rather lose a few hundred bucks to upgrade to car with seats that I'll love for the next 100,000 miles rather than spending that money playing the trial and error game of trying to make my seats more cozy.

Good luck.

I dunno… I like the seats just fine personally. Coming from the 9th g myself several years ago (though not directly), I can’t really tell a huge difference. Sure, these ain’t no Bentley, but they are both comfortable enough for me.

Anyways, I’d get a nice cushion to see if it makes it better.

If not…. and you’d consider “upgrading,” I’d look at a TLX (not the base). They should have very comfortable seats especially the top trim. Better yet, try a Volvo or Lexus. They’re probably the best in the business in seat comfort.

Thanks. I'm thinking about it. Loved my 9th and had no issues with the seat for 120k+ miles with my pillow. Not a huge fan of the 10th so far. I paid 1.7k over msrp. With that and taxes, I don't think I'll get anywhere near what I paid...

I, too, find the lumbar portion of my '22 EX-L Hybrid a bit too aggressive. I was able to adjust the lumbar to an acceptable vertical position that seems to be working for me. And I've found there is a bit of break-in with the lumbar support so maybe you just need some more seat time for it to break in a bit more. I have mine deflated completely and moved just slightly up from the lowest position. I assume you are aware that the lumbar support has a four-way adjustment range, correct?

I too liked the seats in my 9th gen sport better than those in my 10th gen sport. The seat bottom side bolsters in the new car make the seat area narrower than in the 9th gen.

I've been scratching my head on the 4-way. One set moves the lumbar in/out and I set it as in as possible since it sticks out too much even at the lowest setting. But what does the other set do? I can hear the motors but can't for the life of me feel anything changing.

The other control raises and lowers the lumber support to best position it where you want it to support your lumber.

I am 6'4". 240. I don't think the seats are uncomfortable, but I do fear they will break down too quickly with me getting in and out of the car everyday. After just six months of ownership, I feel like they may be starting to do that already.

Does your lumbar also not go up or down? Mine doesn't. I don't really care but was going to ask the dealer about it next month at my freebie oil change.

Had a 2018 Sport. I think the seats at the Astrodome were softer. Got a conformax gel pad. Traded in for a 2021 Sport. Slightly softer. Back to the gel pad. I think for me the issue at the bottom of the back of the seat. Something back there just bugs me. With the gel pad, since it raises me almost two inches higher, that thing that bugs me isn’t there.

I'm in Chasarms size range, and I actually love them. Much better than my 8th gen, that actually did have too much lumbar no matter how it was adjusted. Firmer than my 9th gen, which may or may not suit everyone.
I've actually been very glad the leather seats are so supportive in this car, I've been awaiting back surgery for months due to COVID restrictions and drive about 1k a month for work. It's been a "relatively" pain-free experience.

Interesting how different people react to the seats. I'm 5'11" (used to be 6' but now, at 81 yrs of age have shrunk) and I find the seats to be very comfortable. I can drive for hours in the car and arrive with no back or seat pain at all.

I don't think it does. Can't feel anything different.

Another issue that I hope is just my car. Seat is heated even when I turn it off (no red lights). I need to take it to the dealer.

maybe just for you, I drive 10 hrs sometimes and find them just right, and drove/own every Accord since 79, you should test drive before buying

My EX-L seats are super comfortable! Maybe it’s you.

I got this headrest for my 18 Touring and it's so much more comfortable now. I can recline a bit more and still get neck support. I don't worry too much about the lumbar either. It's now my most comfortable seat.

I'll try it out. I think it's the lumbar. Several 8th and 9th gen owners have removed the lumbar and noticed a big improvement. I'm looking to do the same thing on my 10th.
