Alright, this is pretty exciting!!

I stumbled across USA Spec's Facebook page the other day and saw they had a teaser about the BT45-HON3.

After talking with them and getting some information, here's what they've got....

Coming out in later March. Will have BT and 3.5mm Aux in. No pricing yet. USB Charging (Charging only, no input). Better sound quality than the BT35. Answers calls. Text display. I think they said it'll change inputs like the BT35 when a call comes in, not sure.

I'm almost certain I'm going to purchase this. The only thing that was keeping me from the BT35 were the few reviews I read about poor sound quality. I also would've liked it to incorporate USB audio input. This kept me flip flopping between that and others on the market. I was planning on taking this in to get installed but may do it myself.

Any ideas on where I should put the USB Charging and Aux? I'm not even sure I'll use them, especially if I can run the USB Cable to behind the center console area, like back where the gas pedal is.

Can you route them to your center console where it would be convenient to charge your phone (ditto for the aux)? Please post the differences between the two when you get it and confirm, since there are likely others that may be interested. Pics of the installation would also be nice.

I would think you should be able to route it to the center console. That's what many have done with the PA15-HON or whatever it's called. I don't see the point since I already have a 12V socket there to charge. I guess if I have an iPod or zone and kept it hidden that would work.

I currently don't have the BT35. The guy I spoke to on the phone did say there may be a discount for BT35 owners when I mentioned I was thinking of buying one.

you can definitely route a wire to the center armrest console. Right now, I have a aftermarket HU with ipod connector and i route it along the center console. there is a bezel you can take off from the 12v connector inside the armrest and there is an opening to the inside. however you need to cut some plastic off that bezel to let the wire through.

I have done this when I had the stock HU as well with an isimple adapter.

will probably get the BT45 when it comes out. hoepfully it is good.

I don't see the point, at least for me, of running the wire to the center console. I'd only use the BT and not the 3.5mm aux. for power I already have a 12V connection in there so there's no need to run a USB plug.

i was also in touch with them after seeing the facebook post! as i want something with aux, bluetooth and usb. The grom adapter is very expensive i found since the bluetooth handsfree kit isnt included it comes to around 200 all in. they told me the bt45 wouldnt be out until april now :(

I think it's been delayed again until June. I forgot if they told me this over the phone or I saw it online somewhere.

still no news on the bt45 yet? I'm waiting on this as I don't have any audio adapter/bluetooth but I don't wanna settle for any lower quality sounding bt audio when this one is going to come out any day now.. (fingers crossed)

I'm so glad that I hadn't gone ahead and ordered the BT-35. The bad reviews and the cost of pairing it with a PA-15 had given me pause. The Grom seemed expensive and I was nervous about ordering the wrong kit and then having to order some additional expensive Grom cables.

UPDATE...

I called up USA-Spec today on my drive back from vacation.

They said the BT45-HON3 should be launching at the end of this month. I also got to learn a bit from our conversation. Remember these are from the person on the phone. They may not have been a tech.

Android devices are giving them problems and causing the delays. They have a few on hand and they keep finding bugs since they all work different (I thought bluetooth was bluetooth?).
Honda owners complained the most about the BT35-HON when compared with VW and Toyota owners. Odyssey and SUV owners were the most disappointed.

The most likely problem is the Android OS, since there are so many different versions out in the wild, they can't get them all to work properly. Each version of Android probably causes issues with various Bluetooth bugs in the OS.

Nothing yet, I've been way busy with work and haven't had time to really try installing one.

You may want to give them a call and see if they have any more information about when it'll launch. I checked their YouTube the other day and there wasn't an updated video (they seem to post videos of how their products work).

I've had it for a couple of weeks. They asked me not to tell anyone, but, eh.

The sound quality from podcasts is great, from music, at least to my ears, is pretty good.

Calls are an issue though, I've tried putting the mic in different areas and am told that my voice quality sounds small and a little weak. I haven't tried me somewhere else while someone else is in my car to hear what they're hearing. I did try recording from the mic using an app and I can hear what they mean.

I like that it'll switch Modes automatically when a call comes in and that it displays the name of the song. I also like that it has a USB charging port. I have my iPhone in a ProClip mount on the left side of the radio. The USB cable runs down the side behind the center console keeping wires neat and out of the way.

So it wasn't worth the wait and doesn't work any better than any of the others? Got it.
I don't know if I'd say that. As far as music quality, I'm satisfied, knowing it's over Bluetooth and I have the ease of not messing with wires... although I still have to plug it in to charge. I've thought of sending it back and just going with the PA15-HON2 but if I can get the phone working good I'll be fine.

As far as features, I prefer the USA-Spec versions over the others. That's why I never bought one.
