Top shot is before and the rest are after paint. Cleaned each piece sprayed rustolium high heat primer 4 coats and rustolium high heat aluminum color 5 coats. Finally rustolium clear coat sealer 3 coats let me know what you guys think! I went with aluminum because haven't seen anyone with it and the car color is Gun metal grey so figured to would match and look pretty factory !

Looks like you did a good job:thmsup:
I do think u need a lil contrast. A lotta silver goin on there. Maybe paint the raised honda logo on the metal back portion... I used my smr car color touch up paint on mine like in pic below. but thats just my opinion.
What matters is what u like!

Not me....obviously done very well, but now it looks "super stock"

Reminds me of spending a lot of money painting my kitchen beige fridge "enamel white"

I would have matched the ext paint....

L-O-L, this has to be the most pointless mod ever. Are you folks going to be driving around with your hoods open? Does the paint make you go faster? Because we all know that the 2.4L motor is grossly under powered for such a large car...

Are you going pop your hood at the grocery store and showoff your small 2.4L motor and say "Look, I painted the cover, isn't it nice?"

I can understand painting an exterior mod like rims, a spoiler, or a roof spoiler, but what were your motivations behind painting something under the hood that 99% of people probably won't even see and/or give a rat's a$$ about?

For the same reason people mod any other parts of their cars: because they like it.

You can take any other part and use the same logic you're using. Rear spoiler: do you think the average person will notice that it's there and it didn't come stock?

Really like it man! Good write up too! You knew exactly what you had in mind and did it. They make a good point about how the mod doesn't exactly increase performance or anything, but not every mod will. - Obviously that's not the point here. I like it.:yes::yes:

How long did it actually take you?

Thanks it took about 2-3 hours you have to let the primer dry for an hour before applying the color. Then the color has to dry about 45 min to an hour before laying down the clear.

Now to address that hater who things painting the engine bay is pointless. You obviously don't understand the point of customizing your car if you want to be fast and a dumbass that's cool then when you pop you hood they look at your shit and go damn that is plain and dirty wash it lol, but if you wanna catch someone's eye when you pop your hood or ever wanna win a car show you better learn to paint my friend or know a shop! Anyone who is anyone knows that there is no point to painting all the suspension pieces and engine chrome cause like u said no one sees it but you tell Chip Foose that and we will see you next post after that conversation lol nuff said on that!

Yea I wanted to look like it came from Honda that color. I thought of the color match but wanted it to pop a bit and the outside is close to black shade wise, but thanks for all the compliments

^ Well said! And nice valve color paint job.

thanks man just some cats don't appreciate the work that goes into the car true enthusiast takes pride in the smallest things especially when you do it yourself!
