What were the pros/cons of the kit?

No interest in opinions regarding whether VIN etching is effective or not. Will make my own determination.

My post was whether or not you had etched your windows and if so what was your experience regarding the use of a specific brand of etching kit, pros and cons.

Can you provide an answer specific to that question.

Not worth it at all. Keep in mind many threads here reporting how brittle the front windshield is too, requiring replacement. I had a rock chip over the weekend so I can attest to this.

I still do not have vin etching on my windows. I am not qualified to recommend a brand. Neither can I list any pros or cons to a particular kit.

I etched my SSN, address & cell # on all my windows. My cars not been stolen yet, but now my credit svcks:thumbsdow. Fortunately I bought a honda so I won't need to buy a new car before my credit pops back up:thmsup:. IB4TL

My local PD does it for free as part of their auto theft prevention program...only problem is they only do those sessions a few times a year. Worth looking into, right?

My whole car is etched, not just the windows. Brand is Sherlock.

Cost me 300$, because of it I'm saving 5$/year on my insurance. I hope you understand I didn't do it to save money.
