Greetings, Honda Devotees,

I got a Component Data reading that reads"...Antilock Brakes Codes List
121-11 VSA Solenoid Valve Malfunction."

My regular mechanic printed this out (he does not do this kind of work).
When I came to him bc I have indicators in the dash window: VSA (stabilizer), brake and ABS.
He, at first, thot that the battery connections needed tightened. Nope. I drove it off and the lights/indicators showed up, again. He did connected it to the scanner under the dash. The above reading was produced. He showed me the part in top left side of the engine (4 pipes protruding from it).

I took this to the Honda Service department. They said that this part was on back order until [maybe] the end of June 2023. Parts and Labor is $2,400 (?). Wow!!!

Both my mechanic and Honda Service asserted that I could drive it as normal, just that I won't have a functioning stabilizing. The car is driving just find.

I saw some videos as to how it is changed. Yet the part is unavailable.

It seems that no one has this part due to it being on backorder.

Any other advice?

Thanks much,

Riley

With a V6, that solenoid can leak into the alternator since it's positioned above it, at least with a J35Z engine. It happened to me. I'd suggest getting it replaced with haste!

Different solenoid. This is the VSA solenoid/ABS module.

Thanks. But I can handle driving with the lights on for now in the dashboard (traction, brake and ABS). My Honda dealing want 2,400.00 to fix it. It is another worth it. Plus, Honda, my mechanic and Scotty KIlmer said that it is not essential to fix it. The car is driving just fine. Again, thanks.

When I had this issue, I bought the VSA module from eBay for $130. The module has 2 parts (the electronic part and hydraulic). I took apart the VSA module and took the electronic part and installed it. No need to bleed the brakes. It took me about 2 hours total to install.

That part can be quite tricky to remove depending on your car and space available around it to maneuver.
