In the manual... Page 183

• When importing wallpaper files, the image must be in the USB flash drive’s root directory. Images in a folder cannot be imported.

• The file name must be fewer than 64 characters.

• The file format of the image that can be imported is BMP (bmp) or JPEG (jpg).

• The individual file size limit is 2 MB.

• The maximum image size is 1,680 x 936 pixels. If the image size is less than 420 × 234 pixels, the image is displayed in the middle of the screen with the extra area appearing in black.

• Up to 255 files can be selected.

• If the USB flash drive does not have any pictures, the No files detected message appears

I am going to jump in on this, I am trying to upload an image and getting unsupported as well. The file name is wallpaper1, it is .jpg file, 242KB, image size is 1280X854. What the heck?!

it got something to do with my macbook pro. I tried it again with my windows laptop and it's working fine.
What does a MacBook vs. a Windows computer make any difference? You have to put the image at root level of a USB thumb drive. A jpeg file is a jpeg file.

*sigh* technology is such a bia. Apparently, especially in a car.

This wallpaper issue has come up a few times. I have not messed with it for a long time. But all I remember is every bit of the requirements (as stated in the manual and the second post) has to be correct. Not one thing, or two things, but all things.

Also, bmps save larger than jpegs.

While each file must be 2 MBs or less, the total number (max = 3) that you add to your wallpaper section is less than 6 MBs. I don't remember the actual total file size.

Also, wth does this mean: "Up to 255 files can be selected."
Because what it means in my head is not what it means in the Honda. 255 files selected to do what exactly? These are not rhetorical questions.

What else? One day, the files show up and the pictures are there for me to choose. Another day no changes in what I have done or uploaded; but suddenly "file unsupported."

It's dumb.

I think I might have a solution. My 2016 Odyssey doesn’t recognize images on my flash drive when the flash drive was formatted with an NTSF file system. I formatted the drive with a FAT32 file system and the car recognized the images!
Be aware though, formatting the drive deletes everything on it, so make a backup first!
