The manual is like 500 pages and I haven't found anything on it yet, but does anyone know what this lock is for? It's inside the driver's side door sill next to the gas/trunk release.

Thanks.

You can lock the trunk release with the master
key* or the built-in key*.

Figures. Knew it had to be in there, just couldn't find it. Thanks all.

a real theif would have a screwdriver with him - pop the cover and pull the lock right out. it's a joke.
The car came with locking lug nuts and I always use a steering wheel lock/bar. I'm assuming these are only minor deterrents.

A steering wheel cutter cuts through the wheel like butter and your lock bar slips right off. It is a good visual deterrent for a thug to move on but with an antitheft chip key they can't steal it anyway.

Locks your trunk, so if you're doing valet they can't get into it.
Well...Right execution but wrong reason. Valets would have your key, so they could just unlock it easily.

It's for thieves to be unable to unlock. It doesn't really help, since it's easy to bypass, but it's a visual deterrent.

If a valet has your grey valet key all they can do is start the car and lock/unlock the doors. The valet cannot open the trunk lock or the glove box lock if equipped. The valet key is cut slightly different than the main key.

there is no grey key in 13's - just two fobs....

Technically when you give your valet your fob your supposed to remove the metal key from inside… that is why there is an eyelet so they can put a tag on it, and they won't be able to access any keyed areas
which is just glovebox....lock the floor and the fob still unlocks the trunk with hard key left in the house...

Lol guys... your keys are the valet keys... you remove the internal key from the fob, you lock the trunk and gas on the left side.. then you open the glove box and hit the switch on the left side which locks out the fob from being able to open the trunk. Then you lock your glovebox with the internal key, and you hand the valet your fob without the internal key.. now they can't open the trunk, they essentially have a valet key...
