I have a 2004 Honda accord lx 2.4 4 cylinder with 180,000 miles. I want to switch over to full synthetic for my next oil change. Im obviously using high mileage oil,but what do you guys recommend 10w20, 10w 30...ect.. and why?

Thank you
-any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

use anything but what's printed and recommended on the cap........

ETA: can't go wrong with 20w50 walmart brand.....:D

The original viscosity recommendation from Honda is 5W-20, I would use Mobil 1 0W-20 today, either the Extended Performance or the Advanced Fuel Economy version would be just fine. I have heard issues where using the High mileage version slowed oil burning, but I have no way to verify that, the other issue is Mobil 1 is only available in 5W-20 in the High mileage version. The reasons are, synthetic oil is better quality oil and running 0w-20 will get you a little bit better gas mileage. You can get Mobil 1 for less than $5 a quart at Walmart, even dino oil is about $3 a quart.

my honda dealership put in 5w-20 the past couple of oil changes (one last month, and the first since i got the car in september). don't recall what brand, i'd have to check the service receipt. if i had to guess, its mobil 1.
