Should be receiving my PC 7424 today. However, I am very confused about the pads. If I wanted to apply wax, what pad would I use? Would it be the same kind of pad if I wanted to apply a product like Wet Paint? :dunno: Some people have even told me that if a car isn't clean enough, using the PC to apply wax, etc. can actually scratch the paint. Not sure I made the correct move in ordering the PC.:paranoid:

I used to use the LC Blue pad for applying a wax/sealant, but now I prefer doing it by hand with a regular foam applicator because I find that I use less product and can get better (i.e. even) coverage.

Regarding Wet Paint, follow the products instructions. I don't believe you'll get good results using a PC to apply it. Best advice would be to ask/PM RTexasF for help.

As for what pads to use, here's a chart you can use as a guide. Don't forget that you'll also need a backing plate if you don't already have one.

Thanks guys, and yes I did get the velcro backing plate. Kind of surprised that it is not standard.

Anybody use the pads and products from Griot's Garage?

Griot's seems overpriced to me. But from what I've read, they have okay stuff - some products are excellent while others are subpar for their price and performance (meaning others that are cheaper do a better job).

I only use Menzerna polishes and LC pads, but that's me:D

I have that chart hanging in my garage. Good pads.
