Hi, I've purchased a 2014 V6 coupe and will be picking it up this week. I noticed that there is a hole where the rear license plate will be placed. I'm wondering if there is something missing that would normally be there other than the license plate itself? Can anyone confirm for me what is behind your rear license plate? Is there plastic there or a hole? I'd like to get the dealer to fix it if there is something missing. Unfortunately I can't post a pic as I'm too new here. Thanks in advance.

Coupes get a hole behind the license plate mounted to the rear bumper. Sedans do not have a hole behind the license plate mounted to their trunk lids. Search and grow strong!

That's way I installed a metal license plate bracket/frame on my '16 Coupe that goes behind the plate to provide a little more coverage for that hole. Cost ~$10 at O'Reilly auto parts.

And since there are 4 mounting holes in the bracket and plate, but only 2 screw holes in the bumper, I put rubber plugs in the 'spare' holes at the bottom of the bracket (behind the plate) to help keep water and dirt out and also so the bottom of the plate doesn't vibrate against the bracket/frame.
