Does anyone have any experience with windshield shade covers for the 2018 accords yet?

I seen vehicle specific ones available from HeatShield, Weathertech, Covercraft so far. Anyone have a preference on brand or just prefer a generic non vehicle specific one?

Currently looking for one fitted for our Accords that folds up instead of roll up which seems to be Covercraft only. Any suggestions?

Weathertech full car is what I have. It's really the best choice.Love it.

Covercraft USV100 has awesome heat rejection compared to other auto sun shades I’ve tried.

I've been using Eclipse Sunshades on my cars/trucks since I got my first Honda in 1991. They mount on the edges of the windshield and are simply pulled together, sticking at the center with a velcro strip on each half. When you open it, the two halves snap back to the windshield edges, ready for the next use.

They are custom made for the car you own - I wouldn't use any other kind. Here's the website: https://eclipsesunshades.net/?gclid...BRBqEiwA5RCocU-5IySrQttNFHdZ1qr7nHKxYXpl3yiuSm8w7Q5HBQVqLL8SX0f5TxoCD6IQAvD_BwE

I’ve had both the weathertech and covercraft. I prefer the hard panels of the covercraft over the weathertech soft rolling material.

I park my vehicle for weeks at a time. Covercraft doesn’t move at all. The weathertech would be sagging down or fall off all together due to harsh wind/weather moving the vehicle.

Those Eclipse sitting by the A pillar would bug me big time while driving.

Same here. Plus they look like they were borrowed from a 1970s RV, and they require mounting with adhesive pads rather than some suction cups. On top of all of that, it's not even a reflective surface, it's $48, and you get to spend $9 on new "mounting clips" if you have to replace your windshield.

These should only be purchased for cars with landau tops, a AAA sticker on the back bumper, and painted pinstripes.

I don't even notice them. They fit very close to the A-pillar. Takes about 1 second to pull them into place and the same to release them and start driving.

Does anyone have Llumar Air applied to their windshield? I'm considering this as my tint guy will install it for $150. Worth it to me to not have to roll up a sun shade every time I get in the car.

Hey JP,
A few questions about these if you don't mind...

Does those clips get in the way(visibility wise)?
Mainly on the drivers side of course.
Maybe,if you would, take a pic sometime looking out the windshield from drivers seat.
The website shows them to be designed to be outta the way but kinda seems a little intrusive.

Do you have anything for the other windows(four-sides and rear)?
Mainly the rear, you know how hot that sloped rear window is basically like a microwave back there...

Also, you can't remove the clips they (Eclipse)say but isn't it like automotive tape ?

For what it costs its a good deal but sadly only for the windshield.Unless I'm missing something here.
I have mine but always looking for the next big thing.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge(experience) a little on this if you can.

Excellent addition to this thread.
I paid $250 for eight windows protection with WeatherTech so $150 for only one window protection seems a little steep but like you say you don't have to mess with it every-time you get in/out of the car.

Interesting.

Thanks again guys/gals.

As I said earlier, I don't even notice them when I'm driving, but they DO, of course, add to the "thickness" of the A-pillar area. I worried they'd be intrusive too, when I got my first set, but now, I just get them as soon as I get a new vehicle.

Yes, I have tint film on all the other windows, including the rear. The two back windows and the rear are quite dark. I think it's 20% on those. The front windows are lighter, probably 35%. I don't really know, though. It was dealer applied which is a common thing here in Aridzona.

The clips CAN be removed with a bit of effort. I've done it on an older car when I had to have the windshield replaced. You need a sharp knife to work between the glass and the clip. The adhesive is a double-stick tape that is probably just like molding tape. Still, getting new clips is not a deal-breaker, since you don't change windshields often.

And yes, the Eclipse sunshade is only for the windshield. It's a "silvered" cloth and I think it does a pretty good job reflecting heat.

I'll try to remember to take a picture and post it soon.

I ordered the cheapest sunshade cover on Amazon. But it wasn't easy to find the car's sunshade back window. I ordered the car shades on Amazon and complained to the seller twice. Why is there a problem with that? I saw a blogger ad for Snap Shades a few days ago, but I haven't ordered them yet. Maybe any of you can share a review of these car shades? I don't want to waste money again. But I like that these shades have smart magnetic technology. Anyway, I could give them to my brother for Christmas. Lol. I'm brilliant. hahahaaa
