I wouldn't bother with the dealer, I HIGHLY doubt they will replace the entire dash just because there is a little paint missing. Could it have been from removing one of the safety stickers from the factory? maybe it got baked in from the sun and when you pulled it off it took some of the paint with it. Like somebody has said, just use a sharpie. It will cover it up nicely, probably put a couple of coats on it so it blends well.

^ If a car came with that when I got it and didn't notice it without any damage I have done then I would want it fixed.
I would want that fixed too, but the problem is the dealer, and the fact that its the dash, not the airbag cover that is messed up. Therefore they would have to replace the ENTIRE dash because of the small nicks there. And even then, good luck proving that it wasn't something you did to make that happen. Its not like its a common problem with the accords.

Sad but true.

It's clearly where the airbag meets the dash and was scratched during the manufacturing. I would love to find a dark grey sharpie and be done with it. No guarantee the dash would go back together squeak free if it was changed out. That was my biggest problem. I don't smoke so not cig. It's clearly just missing paint

Yes it is cosmetic and yes I personally would get my dealership to do some kind of fix...I wouldn't go to the point of replacing the whole dash however just stating that all cars are not perfect when comming out and sure some things will be missed. That is why we should address these concerns nicely and get them fixed :)

FWIW My 08 coupe with black interior had few spots like that. The dash material seems to be plastic with a thin layer of vinyl pressed onto it? I used a sharpie and covered it up. If you looked closely you could see it but it pretty much faded away.

Now, if I had to start touching up the dash board with a paintbrush, that would fry my beans.

I'll be curious to see what the interiors look like after another 3 or 4 years - particularly cars in the south.

If you could demonstrate this is a warranty item, I doubt the dealer would replace the dash. Most likely the dealer would sublet the repair to an interior specialist. Our Odyssey was delivered with a flaw in the dash- dealer brought in someone who was able to blend just the right color and did a touch up. And when I had an Audi, the dealer damaged the glove box lid when doing a repair. It was cheaper for them to bring in an interior guy and fix the glove box lid then to repalce simply the lid. That tells you something about how little these interior repair guys actually charge. At least in my area, I know there is an interior guy that makes the rounds every so often to all the dealers, so they schedule the appointment around his next visit to the area. PS- both repairs were spot on. And frankly, I would prefer to have a touch up then to completely dismantel the dash and replace it as more often then not, you'll wind up with rattles
