Automatic or Manual Transmission?

Just wonder who drives a Automatic and who drives an Manual
maybe both.. What was the deciding factor in your decision at the time of purchase?

I personally drive an Automatic because I never learned how to drive a Manual I might get
there someday. My parents would like to drive the car from time to time its their car so they
will decided. We got the car for a good price of 20K OTD so we wasn't to picky.

Auto FTW! cause im lazy to drive manual xP plus i heard it gets old later on cause my brother had a EG manual but he stopped using it n started using the crv n my accord more lol

Auto, because my wife can't drive a stick.......:paranoid:

Auto, because the car on the dealers lot was auto :)

Stick, cause there is something about V6 and a manual, that Power and sound. Just need more money for a 2nd car that is auto, once a while I like to take it easy.

Manual:

Upside: Manuals (Honda is particular) provide more involvement, control and fun. Manuals also provide better fuel mileage and better acceleration. They provide better throttle response, which just feels sharper in daily driving and also makes it easier to support the car in corners (no torque converter delay).

Downside: They are bad in bumper-to-bumper traffic, especially going uphill.

Stick.... And crappy at that.... Needs more work, poor quality.....

I'm a stickshift snob. The only cars on my shopping list when I go shopping for cars are those with an available manual transmission.

Honda makes some of the best gearboxes and clutches. For one, they build their gearboxes in-house, unlike GM which uses Aisin or Getrag. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, I just prefer a manufacturer who is building and designing a car to not have to send their specs to someone else and hope they get it right.

And holding your girlfriend's hand is no problem when they put their hand on the gearshift and shift with you..... even better is when your girl drives stick herself

Auto sells better than manual. MT will probably become a deal-breaker for most people when you sell your car in the future. Had a hard time selling my 03 Eclipse MT.

Sold my 10 year old Prelude 5 speed with 220,000 miles within TWO days of posting it on Craigslist, for EXACTLY what I wanted for it, because I had 3 people call me about it and were very serious.

Know who and where your clientelle should be and you will sell a manual easy, if not even easier, than an auto.

Even now, when I tell people I got the 6 speed V6, their eyes open wide and they go "I didn't even know you could get a stick on the V6.... let me know when you're ready to sell it". They're gonna have to wait another 8 or 9 years :D

auto, i drive in a lot of traffic. my civic si was not that much fun in the same situation.
Same story for me. After 4 years and 56k miles of rowing the gears in my '06 Si, I said enough. I'm still a die-hard MT guy when it comes to my weekend toys.

'nuff said!

AUTO..... If my girl is in the car the only stick that needs to be grabbed and held is mine... lol J/k :)
