How does it NOT get HOT? I've had black interiors before and they are always HOT, HOT, HOT.
Window tint, tint, tint! And a sunshade.

Here is my argument for the LSM. You will not get tired of the all black. It never gets dirty or hot(i live in MS...it's hot here). I have had black interior since 2005 and it's always looked brand new.
Yup - I had 2 cars that didn't have black interior. Dark blue, which wasn't bad, but faded badly and light gray...the worst color right next to any shade of white. The carpets would get brown staining that wouldn't ever come clean. The worst!

So, I think I've talked myself into taking advantage of the deep discounts and 0.9% APR on a '17 Touring Sedan. I took a drive this weekend and I'm in love with that sweet V6. I've been shopping for months and have looked at everything from the new CX-5 and CR-V to a Ridgeline. At the end of the day, the vehicle I most want to drive on a daily basis is the Accord. My coupe has been great but I was some more space and after driving only 4-cylinders for the past 14 years, I'm hankering for the V6.

My problem is choosing a color. I didn't think I liked the straight ivory interior that comes on the ***, but after going back today and spending some time at the dealer, I think that's my preferred interior color. For some reason, I'm just not feeling the black. Maybe it's the brownish tone of the faux wood trim clashing with all the black, the fact that the headliner is light gray, or that it just feels too dark, I don't know. I do generally prefer warmer tones, which is why I bought my *** and Black/Ivory Coupe. That said, I really do much prefer the Lunar Silver over the ***, but it only comes with black interior. I like how it shows more reflection and depth, and changes a bit more in different lighting than ***. Obviously, I like the ***, too. that's what I've driving for the past 4 years. It just seems like maybe too much white on the sedan. White also shows dirt a bit more than silver and definitely mores on the back end of the vehicle. So, I like the ivory interior and the silver exterior. Should have known I'd end up here LOL. Now, I'm not saying that I wish there was a LSM/Ivory combo available; I don't think that would look good at all. I'm just trying to decide what color is more important, the interior or the paint.

I am well aware of how ivory will show dirt more than the black, but I keep my car in impeccable appearance, so it's not an issue for me on that front. I'm also aware that the ivory would be a bit cooler in the heat of summer, and hide dust better than black. I've had black leather before and it wasn't a major deal.

What arguments do you guys have for against LSM/Black or ***/Ivory?
I just traded my 2014 Black Touring for a 2017 Black Touring. The new look black interior from my 14 took a little getting used to. Because my 14 had a clear bra with a partial hood I still got a few chips on the hood, so I went with the full hood clear bra, and while its not perfect it will look great in three years and better than my 14 did. Nothing looks greater than my 2017 Black all shinned up! The white looks awesome as well but I believe when you have a clean white next to the black the black looks pretty damn sharp as well. This might be my last one though unless the decide to bring the 6 cylinder engine back in 2020!

Think I have decided to go for the ***/Ivory. The all back interior on the LSM just wasn't doing it for me. I still love the silver, but the *** is still beautiful. I think I'd rather be surrounded by the two-tone of the ivory and black every day. I tried to warm up to the all black, but it didn't happen. Felt very confining and dark. I prefer light and airy these days.

I did discover something upsetting about the car I intend to purchase: Looks like someone either scrapped the bumper while driving or something contacted it and put a few minor scratches near the fog light housing. I think it could be touched up, but it's kinda a bummer since it was just about perfect otherwise. I went over it very well. I plan to have PPF installed, so I'd wat it fixed. Hopefully no one else test drive it after me and treated it poorly or put a bunch of miles on it. I didn't pay attention to the odometer today. I'd prefer one without the minor blemish, but not sure it's worth making a big deal out of, or driving 2hrs to check out one at the dealer with the best advertised pricing. I'm thinking my local dealer will want my repeat business and give me the same deal, or hopefully better than their Internet price of $30,991.

You can't go wrong with the ***! It's the only exterior color that comes with the two tone ivory/black leather. I am one who hates beige seats but when I saw them with the contrast stitching and how the black toned the ivory down a lot - there IS such a thing as too much beige lol - I fell in love. The ivory is even carried over onto the doors which gives the overall interior a special look. Of course you know all of this already though as I see your '13 is *** with the two tone leather.

Everything in my '07 coupe's interior was black on black on black and owning her for so long, it definitely got boring. It also made my 30% tint appear a lot darker than it was, which attracted an officer to pull me over and write me a citation. Argh.

I just got the '17 coupe tinted 30% yesterday and the tint looks a lot lighter with the ivory leather!

As far as those minor scuff marks go - you can try to negotiate with the dealer to see if they'd buff it out for you before the final sale or you could hit it yourself with some compound and a buffer. They look very minor and just on top of the clear coat - no real gashes or anything. It should be okay

I've mentioned this before in other threads and I will acknowledge that I'm probably a minority in feeling this way.

Here is why you have to really drive both and make the decision yourself. My wife and I have exactly the same car with one difference. The exterior color on hers is ***, and mine is CBP. We both have the ivory interior. She absolutely doesn't like driving my car and I feel the same way about hers. Why? I really can't pinpoint it, nor can she. For me, I think it is the contrast of seeing the bright white hood against the dark dashboard that bothers me as my dislike for driving her car seems to be less when it is cloudy or dark outside.

Whats even odder, is that I actually prefer the *** color when viewing the car from the outside.

The one on top is definitely gouged a bit, so it would require several coats of touch-up to build it back level I think. I'm not sure it would be an easy fix, and I'm not too hot on a brand new car with damage in such a visible spot. I've driven and inspected this car and can't find anything wrong other than the scuffs, which weren't there when I test drove it.

Might be time for a road trip the Chattanooga! :D

Don't settle with the damage on a new car. It's brand new and you're paying $30k+, it should be perfect. They should be able to repair it to look brand new at no extra cost to you. If not, request they do a dealer swap or request they bring another vehicle in somehow. They'll want you're sale and will accommodate.

My neighbor bought a new one in February, and similarly his hood was damaged. The repaired it at no cost to him.

Btw, what state are you purchasing in? Is the 30,991 the OTD quote? Or before your other fees? If before fees, that's a very high quote.

I just drove down there and inspected the scuffs/scratches. I brought some light compound and was able to rub the marks away no problem.

The $30,991 quote is before taxes, but includes dealer doc fee and destination. Their website states the fees and destination are included, but their quote stated the doc fee was not included. I e-mailed them about it being on their site and they agreed to honor how it was presented.

What would be a good starting price to offer my local dealer? I really don't want to drive 2 hours for the same car, but if they can't deal then it might come to that.

Research the "local fair purchase price" on KBB, Edmunds and TrueCar - that is what I did as step 1. I then contacted three local dealers and said "I want ______ car for ____ price including destination fee. Can you match or beat it?" All three came back saying yes they could match it, one guy said he'd come in $300 less. I then used that to get the other two competing against themselves and before you knew it (all via email, I refused to pick up the phone as you can't prove what is said verbally) I had the one 11% below MSRP and throwing in free lifetime oil changes and state inspections haha

G'luck man! I hope you get it for the price you want it
