I saw this for sale on my local Craigslist site for Seattle. My jaw nearly dropped to the floor. A 2007 Honda Accord is being offered for $12,981. Granted, it’s the premium model and it has 70k miles. But even then, that’s borderline insanity.

I’ll include a link, but I think a screenshot is more effective (as I’m sure this hot offer won’t last)…

You don't understand! It has PREMIUM AUDIO!!!

(Side note: am I the only one that's not seeing the claimed backup camera? Classic copy and paste of desirable features...)
Fun story, I actually had the displeasure of visiting this dealership to help my friend find a car a few years ago. This dealership was one of the sketchiest that I’ve ever been to. Needless to say, no car was purchased.

V6 too, which helps.

My 2012 was also originally from the Seattle area. Guess people don't drive much there or something.

You joke, but after experiencing it in mine compared to the standard audio my 2010 had, I can see why people would pay more for it. I feel robbed of my ability to tolerate lower quality audio now. :(

Oddly enough, my dad has a 2019 Highlander Limited with a "premium audio" package, and in my opinion, the stock sound system in my 2010 Accord is much better!

I would really want to test out any premium audio before paying extra for it.

As a reference, this is more than half of what I paid for my 2012. And this car is 5 years older with over 3x the mileage.

In one of my first cars (my 1979 Ford F-150), my “premium audio” was a single speaker inside the dashboard. No bass. No treble. In my 2004 accord, the radio decides for itself when it wants to work.

So I think my definition of “premium” may be a bit flawed.

Omg that is extremely overpriced for 70k miles on a 7th gen. Even for an EX-L, it's way too high. And not to mention, it could have rust. For that price you could get a much newer 9th gen or x gen 2.0T.

And talking about Premium audio, it's way better than the garbage from Nissan (even with bose) and Tesla.

No way that car is worth remotely close to that price! Maybe the 6-6 sedan, which is kinda rare, is worth a look. The 06/07 V6 auto was nice but there were lots of them. No need to pay this much premium. You can get a 9G V6 for about the same price (maybe with slightly higher mileage). I’d pass.

Stock backup camera started in 8G, and became standard in 9G. 7G came with no backup camera.

It's possible. I just saw something on IG about a car auction had high prices - at least $1-2k higher than normal per car. Said that won't be reflected in the market for a couple of weeks.

I just saw a listing on Cargurus for a 69k mile 2007 Odyssey Touring with NAVI and RES and they want ~$13k as well. Only issue it has is having a beige interior, but I think the maroon/Burgundy color of it is rare for this generation.

Call me biased but I wouldn't even consider that a terrible price. Especially if it's still in good shape. Finding low mileage 3rd gens in good condition is difficult for a reason.

You brought up an interesting point. I purchased my 2004 Honda Accord LX back in 2021 for $5,000 USD from a neighbor. The car was pretty clean overall, but I cleaned it up even more. It gets compliments from time to time for being one of the cleanest 20+ year old cars on the road.

If I were to sell it, I’d want at least $5,000 for it. For a car that looks immaculate and is dead reliable, that’s probably the minimum.

Many prices may be heavily inflated in some cases, but I disagree with some of the people you see on the internet (usually on Reddit) who think that a car like mine is worth no more then $1,000 lol. An accord that cheap is more likely to be trashed inside and out.

If only insurance saw it that way too. I dropped collision on my Odyssey several years ago because realistically insurance would never value it at its real value anyway. Even better decision in hindsight considering how infrequently I drive it. I have collision on my 2012 Accord since it was still worth 5 figures when I got it, but in a few years I may drop that too, who knows?
