Hello, I've recently needed more trunk space and was going to fold down the backseat of my 2013 coupe. I previously owned a 4d 2009 civic and had the same little handle to tug to release the seats to push down without problem. However, when I pull on the handle in trunk of the accord the cable moves slightly but the seats do not unlatch and cannot be pushed down. This was the first time I've tried to fold the seat down in this car. Is it possible this has never worked or has cold temperatures somehow causing the cable to fail. What do you guys think, should I wait for it to warm up or take it to honda?

My Coupe does not make a click noise when I pull the lever. When I go back into the car, any pressure on the seatback just seems to lock it again (frustrating).

What I do is push the seatback, from inside the trunk, to make sure it unlocked, and get it started. Bit of a pain, but I rarely have to fold the seat down.

Then again, might be a bit of a pain because of the recent cold.

On my 2013 Accord EX-L sedan I had to hold the release handle and pull down the seat back at the same time. Needed to be adjusted I guess?

No issues here. I pull on handle, it sticks out a little bit, I walk to drop seats down from rear doors and all is good.

I have to hold and push as well with my EX-L sedan's folding rear seatback.

My 7th gen sedan you turned a key in the interior to release the seats ( that was better). My 8th gen sedan does as you describe. You have to pull and have a small stick so you can push the seats at the same time. They need a tension spring to push them away from the latch. IF you pull the release then walk around you will find them still latched.
Sounds like this wasn't fixed in 9th gen.
Sometimes even Honda messes up the easy stuff.

Tension spring would cost the bean counters too much extra.

I'm thinking the latch may be broken, but I'd push it with a stick or something while releasing the handle just to be sure and save yourself a trip to the dealer.
