hey guys does anyone know the best fuel injector cleaner that i could use for my 07 accord and how would i go about actually performing the cleaning im kinda new to cars so any help would b appreciated

Lucas

I have used Lucas fuel system cleaner with good results, as above, wait till almost empty and add 1 bottle then fill it up so it will mix good. Good luck.

Berryman's B-12 ChemTool and STA-BIL 22275 Ethanol Treatment with Performance Improver are about the best you can get. If you live in an area where they put ethanol in the gas, these 2 products do an outstanding job of cleaning up and preventing the stick, gummy mess that accumulates in the fuel system.

I had this problem not to long ago. Got my tank on E, used 2 bottles of Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner, went on a road trip to see my peoples in VA and back and my car was back to normal

I think if you use "top tier" gas (Chevron with the techron in it), you don't need any extra additives. My 03 still runs as smooth as ever, and I've never used any.

I +1 either Seafoam or Lucas. I personally use Lucas and it does great. I throw a bottle into the gas tank, on E of course, every time I do an oil change.

OP sounds like a new guy. Is there a problem? If not, then you can use just about anything you find at Walmart such as STP or Chevron. Drop a bottle or two (2nd tank of gas), and see how it goes. May be best to do this on a road trip with hwy driving.

If it's more than that, you may need a real mechanic to clean the injectors. Just make sure his plans are to actually take it apart to clean it for real. And not just pour a bottle of something to clean it.

i used to be a Shell V Power only guy down from Mobil since Mobil gas for some reason is always THE most expensive gas out there

the thing about "additives" is that a company can literally drop one eye dropper full of an additive into a whole 18 wheel fuel tanker and "legally" state it has that additive

Myth busters: Consumer Reports takes on alleged gas-saving tips

Cheap Gas Stations Give Cheap Gas

"For years, there’s been a common belief among drivers that gas purchased at independent gas stations isn’t the same quality as gas purchased from name-brand gas stations.

We’ve even heard rumors in the past that say some gas stations dilute cheap gas with small amounts of water, affecting power and engine efficiency.

Both, Consumer Reports says, are not true.

In reality, all gas stations are tied by tight laws governing the storage and pumping of gasoline, while independent and no-name gas stations usually buy gasoline from the well-known oil companies anyway.

The only difference? Cheaper gasoline sometimes omits the additives designed to clean older engines. With today’s modern fuel-injection systems however, that shouldn’t make much difference."

i remember this video of this Body Builder who was showing how all Whey protein isn't equal and was shocked to see him drop literally a teaspoon of said special ingredient and still legally be able to claim it had that specific special (usually expensive) ingredient

just food for thought

we can reallly get into this gas talk if you want...sometimes, some gas tanks will get a "good" batch of gas...

wtf am i saying you ask?
well I've definitely noticed that sometimes I'll get way more miles out of a tank than other times...There is no significant difference in my conditions and driving patterns, distance or type of driving...

other times, I feel like I got gypped by the gas station, and will never visit there again...

I feels like anytime I get free gas from points at one station, I blow through it faster than from the stations that I have to pay for it at. Starting to think they're adding water to their mix.

Couple things.
Don't gas up while the tanker is filling up the stations tanks as it's stirring up anything that was resting on the bottom of the tank.
Fill up at the coldest time of the day. Molecules are more compact and you get more bang for your buck.
Don't use diesel ;)

I would not be surprised if the amount of ethanol varies from station to station, and time of the year. Pumps around here are labeled, "may contain up to 15% ethanol."
That might account for the differences you see from tank to tank.

So has anyone tried/heard of this?

CRC 1-Tank Power Renew® Complete Fuel System Cleanup, Gasoline, 15 oz. 05815: Advance Auto Parts

Reason I ask is I have a $6 off coupon for it from AAP
$6 off, it's still a waste of $11 IMO. I used to pour a bottle of Techron in once a year or so. I haven't used any in at least 5 years, and the engine still runs just as smooth. I buy the same brand of gas (Texaco), from the same station every time, and even with the 10% ethanol, she purrs like a kitten. I actually tried gas with no ethanol for a couple tanks, just to see what the difference would be. I went back to the Texaco. The engine seems to like it, ethanol or not.

So Honda, and all those other car companies are telling us to use "top tier" gas for nothing? Regardless, I've found a gas that works well with my engine, and I'm sticking with it. You can burn a gallon of gas driving around town looking for the $0.02 cheaper gas if you like.

I don't see how this could be true. You are still getting the same volume of gas per dollar. And the gas under ground is not going to fluctuate in temperature nearly as much as the air or ground.
