I just bought a 2015 accord sport and I'm loving it a lot. The ONLY thing I wish it had was a basic home link garage opener system built in and a sunroof option. I don't really care for the power too much although it would be nice to have a bit more hp but if it had those 2 features this car would be even more solid! These are some pics of my car before and after tint.

Yup I am soon to be picking up my 3rd Accord and they are the car that I feel is the best bang for your buck, even the Touring which is the one I am picking up.

You don't need unleaded you have looks that age well and you have reliability that Honda is known for worldwide.

Welcome to the Club!

Try this if you just gotta have one.

HomeLink Upgrade - 36650-T2A-KIT - College Hills Honda

It'll fit the 4 door 2015 too.

To be honest, I thought about buying the upgrade kit for the garage door opener for my 06, but I got cheap and velcroed my door button opener to the inside of my door pocket....its not visible when parked outside and its easy to remove. The openers are convenient, my Ridgeline has it, but kinda disappointed that the car can be off and the button still works. On my older Benz, you had to have the ignition on before the homelink would work.

That would actually be aggravating to have to have the ignition on. I don't carry a regular garage door opener, so if I go out with someone and come home, rather than just unlock my car and press the button, I'd have to get in and turn the key in the ignition before I could open the door? Also, what about when you're getting out of the car with briefcases, bags, books, coffee, breakfast etc. It's better for me to be able to hit that button at any point in my packing up or unpacking sequence that I need to.

Should have bought a Toyota ....

LOL JK ! The title of this thread is precisely what most first time accord owners say....
And I say it quite often too!
This is actually my 2nd Honda and I used to drive my sisters older Accord when I was in high school lol. Made the mistake of getting a 2 door accord and never want another 2 door again.

I'd rather keep it safe and just use a remote. That looks like a great idea tho

That's a good point about needing the ignition on. The only reason I want the home link system is because my remote is dirty and ugly as heck lol. I just keep it in a ziplock bag but it still works lol

Well, I like the fact that the key has to be in...if someone smashed my window, they could be in my garage and in my house....my alarm would go off, dogs would be attacking and I would be downstairs with the gun, but still makes me nervous :smile

But, I get around that by parking the RL in the garage :grin

Whys that? I love my coupe...the only thing I am regretting now is a baby is due in a month and might be tough, but not going to get rid of it because of that. Also, bought the car over 6 years ago, so kid wasn't really in the cards back then :laugh

First of all, congratulations on the expectant addition!

Been there. '91 Accord Coupe. Wife's car was a VW Cabriolet. Then kids came. We got real tired of wrestling with getting a car seat into the back seat on either car. Accord was gone within 6 months (lease was up soon so it went instead of the VW).

So while I applaud your determination to keep your coupe, I suspect practicality (and the expected mindset shift in priorities that comes from being a parent) will change how you look at it soon after baby comes. That is just one of many things that will change (most of them will be good).

I wanted a black on black accord, my dealer had everything color exept what i wanted so i walked away and looked around until i found what i wanted. If u were fixed on a color why did u let the dealer change ur mind, u should have though it through before buying that car. A car is a big purchase so you should have taken more time to think it through before buying it.

I think you meant this for the "I bought Hematite when I really wanted ASM, I really wanted a V6 but I bought an I4 so now I'm paying $490 a month" thread.

But you bit the bullet and got the v6 of course ur paying more for it but who cares ur enjoying your car. OP should take a lost and trade it in, there far more cons on repainting it then trading it.

Dude - wrong thread. The OP here loves his car (as do I). Not his car. Mine, I meant. I love my car and I don't have a V6. I think you meant to post in this thread:

Accord Re-Paint

Congratulations on your new ride. Every Honda I have owned since 1981 has made me truly happy. Welcome to the forum.

There are after market moon roof's available but I would choose the installer carefully. The after market home link option has only one drawback, it's battery powered. When the battery dies you have to go through the install process again. As for horsepower, the I4 moves the car very well merging in traffic and it pays off nicely at the gas pump. I have been getting a solid 30 miles a gallon since new. The V6 has great acceleration but costs about $3000 more. I can think of a lot of other things I can buy with that money while creeping along in rush hour traffic. :grin

There's lessons to be learned with every car purchase. I think it's important not to settle for something you may later regret. Learned this myself two purchases ago. Last car (g37 6mt sedan graphite shadow/gun metal) was nowhere to be found on any lot within 15 states. Ordered it configured to my specifications. Took ~2 months to arrive.

If you're known to be bothered by certain things, don't compromise when purchasing. Honda has a huge dealer network, surely there's a car with the desired configuration somewhere. I was ready to do a fly and buy for the above, but a trade in would of complicated the deal greatly.

Not sure what you mean by "the power" but I'll assume you have the CVT. It continues to be a mystifying challenge to get the best throttle position for maximum acceleration. Today was a fail. Car is quick from a rolling start but I couldn't find the sweet spot in the CVT. Last week was a completely different story. Full pedal does not get the desired result. Somewhere around either side of 3/4 plant of the right foot will bring the 189hp to life. I found the spot last week and the car startled me by doing an angry front end lift, FWD acting like it wanted to leave the car behind and torque steer that tried to snap the steering wheel from my hands. I use 93 octane and I'm sure it helps. Others won't agree.

The Sport didn't scare me as much as it surprised me. Hadn't felt that ridiculous pull since I drove a friends 1984 Turbo LeBaron Chrysler convertible long ago.

It's plenty quick for a 4 door 4cyl sedan. More is usually better but this car doesn't need it. Have no idea why they didn't put in the 205hp Civic Si motor. ( don't kill me if it isn't 205hp. just trying to recall the window sticker )

I have never had any problems accelerating because I plan ahead which never requires maximum acceleration. However, the car accelerates just fine by flooring the accelerator. If you want maximum acceleration select 'Sport' mode and use the paddle shifters to hold the RPM at the red line. Then you check your rear view mirror for the rotating red lights of the police car. BTW Acceleration is more a function of torque than horsepower.

If you think that using 93 octane gasoline gives you more power then I have a bridge in Brooklyn I will sell you cheap. :grin If it makes you happy, it's your money. I'm sure the oil companies welcome your money because their advertising is working. :devil

Yeah... that'll get around that. We have a garage that was converted into an outdoor patio with screen door tracks, so can't pull it in.

I guess people that just have standard garage door openers would face the same danger of someone breaking into the car and then the house. I wonder if there's a car that disables the homelink feature if the car hasn't been opened with the key that's programmed to it......
