After almost 3 years of daily driving and pushing my RX8, it was time to move on as I needed something a bit more practical (Automatic as others cannot drive stick and I drive a lot in traffic when I go out of town for work, FWD, Less fuel consumption, technological advances for just daily eases, more spacious, not as much worry about the engine) with family. My 8 also started having transmission issues as my gears began to grind. That said, it has got to be one of the best vehicles I have ever driven, no other car handles like it and the engine is just so smooth.

As saddened as I am from trading in the 8, I am also extremely happy with my new vehicle! A 2015 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6! Yes yes a sedan is more "practical" with 4 doors but this was a non-issue and I absolutely love the look/drive of the 9th generation Accord Coupes. I must admit, the torque I experienced from this after driving the 8 was a decent change

Here are some pictures! Cheers

Hey guys! Just a quick question,

I have Eco mode off, and been doing mostly city driving, with a couple moments in sport mode while merging onto highways for some fun. Generally though I do not have a lead foot, although it's possible I subconsciously indeed have a lead foot coming from an RX8.

I am on pace for getting 400-450KM on this tank of fuel.

Is this the normal range for fuel economy for a V6? I have no complaints regarding mileage but simply curious, and compared to an 8 this is good mileage haha!

Thanks!

Fuel Economy

Hey khaira93!

That doesn't seem like normal fuel economy for a V6.

I drive with eco mode off with some spirited driving here and there and I average around 430-460 miles (700-750 kilometers) from one tank of gas.

Would it have anything to do with the fact this engine is brand new? Perhaps I should give my dealer a call then.

I do about half city and half highway and I typically see my figures in the low 400's. Road trips have given me tank averages closer to 5. I don't notice much difference with air conditioning use. I live in Texas and even in the summer I park the thermostat at about 60 and still get the same mileage. The most miles I have accomplished has been 525, driving east from the Rockies headed downhill the whole way with a tailwind and eco on. Eco seems to not make a huge difference other than making my car feel like a Geo Metro when I mash the accelerator.

To the OP: Great choice of car! I hope you love it as much as I love mine.

So I have done a self experiment the past few fill ups. I had to granny it everywhere to achieve 25 city driving. Everyone flys past me but I am getting decent mileage. I also won't hit 60 MPH on the on ramp for the highway doing this too which is super annoying. If I drive normally in city, I average around 20-21. I think we both have heavy foots in terms of acceleration. All I have been doing is keeping the coach lines green as possible and I achieve the advertised MPG. Highway driving without eco mode on I average 30 or so. Eco mode lands me around 32-33. Keep in mind I live in Mid-west America where all of my fuel is 10% Ethanol. This is all on 87 octane gas too.
